Wait for the right one. Dont fix a dog
I missed out on the very reasonably priced Omega Ploprof on Sales Corner this week (sadly).
However I've seen this on eBay and whilst it too is reasonably priced for the full set, there is an issue with the crown so I'd be getting it off for repair and service if I bought it.
My questions to the esteemed forum members are : has anyone had a Ploprof serviced recently and at what cost, or could it be a cheaper issue to resolve instead of going for a full service.

RIAC
Mine was serviced this time last year and it cost £489.
agree to pass and if you take it to the repair center they might suggest you to do x and y and better z as well
Tbh the crown guard is a bit finicky to function at the best of times so the one for sale could be normal
The seller of that eBay one seems to know it has a fault. He refers to the crown not the crown guard, and is suggesting the crown won’t close without the crown guard being screwed in. It’s a fault and be prepared to be charged accordingly in addition to the service cost. Could easily cost a grand all in.
Actually just got mine out and had a look at the crown action and figured it out just goes to show how much it gets worn, the crown does click back into place prior to screw down with a press to the middle
