    Christies/Elton John

Elton is having a clear out and it includes some watches. Nothing ordinary asvyou can imagine. Just google Christies, Elton John. Looks a lifetime of having too much money.

Next time I’m looking at art and my wife asks “who on earth would buy that?” I have the answer!

Well he spent 40 million in 20 months, mostly stupid stuff like flowers.

Pretty sure I've still got the Athena poster of Nastassja Kinski and the Serpent in the loft.

Maybe I should have posted this in the Random disclosure thread?

According to the Rocket Man film, he gifted his father a Chopard watch as well

I think it's the other way round.

Chopard were heavily into him (and the associated publicity he provided). Do you think he paid list price for anything? Did he pay anything at all for some/most items?

Box and papers seem to be missing from most (probably all?) the watches. Whilst not unsurprising that would annoy me.

Edit: To clarify that is not the only thing preventing me from bidding! haha

Could be, though I figured he was too wealthy and profligate to care about getting free or cheap watches. Given his reputation for spending money like water I could easily see him walking into a watch boutique and walking out with four or five bejewelled monstrosities that he paid full price for.
