Thread: Nato strap/ spring bar query.

  1. #1

    Nato strap/ spring bar query.

Just about to reorder a nato strap for my Seiko Arnie. Previously when I had one, using straight spring bars (with a tight gap). There used to be clicking sound sometimes. Does this mean curved spring bars needed?

    Thanks Brad

Non-flanged bars are far more secure when using NATO strap so I would stick with those.

While unlikely it is possible to catch the watch head and flick open both spring bars together using the flanged type.

Yea I’d never use flanged; had a close call one day, luckily on a Seiko and I was on the sofa. But opened my eyes up to it.

Clicking probably due to spring bar end moving in the lug 'ole. Some SBs can have a thinner end than others or could be due to wear. Some experimental R & D should fix.
