    Refurb Laptop Recommendation ??

    Hey all,

Has anybody any recommendations for a refurb laptop ??

It has to be running Windows 10 and it's only to be used to run Office 365 for word processing.

I could just Google sellers but I'd welcome a recommended seller if poss.

    Cheers

Ive bought from the seller in the link above this year and was delighted with the laptop, packaging, service etc. Prices seemed decent too.

Took about 10 days from purchase to arriving which was the only thing that was a bit off, given we all expect items within 24hrs these days!

Over 200k transaction on eBay and 99.4% feedback is reassuring

They have loads of different brands, models and specs available, just a case of figuring out what you prefer.

I went for a ThinkPad t480 in the end and it came with windows 11. Was £220.

    Consider a dell latitude 7490 - it’s a workhorse

Try Frazer on 07931 637240. I bought a device he advertised on FB Marketplace ,I think, and when I went to collect, it seems the one I wanted had already been sold, so he provided me with a better spec thing for the same price. Expecting a bit of a squabble , he couldn't have been nicer to deal with. Has loads and loads of ex corporate machines of all sorts so maybe worth a call.

I recently bought a refurbished Dell Latitude 7400 for my son and it is doing the basics well. It came from Rapid IT on eBay and it came quickly and well packaged. Not sure if this link works:

Bear in mind that Windows 10 goes End of Life in October 2025 so I wouldn't consider the purchase of a laptop that wasn't Windows 11 compatible. Microsoft appear to be applying a hard stop in terms of old hardware and Windows 11 compatibilty so you will not be able to just do what you want (I have a 2008 Dell running Windows 10, slowly).
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

I'd look at IBM laptops from the ebay seller linked but just be a little bit careful about the screens. IBM sold a lot of corporate machines & they were often specced with a low grade screen to save money. Contact the seller & see which ones he has with the brighter, higher resolution screens.
