Probably this one and the cheapest purchase by a long way which makes it even more a favourite

Fantastic watch, and it was a contender to replace my Speedy when I made the decision to go for an IWC instead. Close call, though.

Hard to call. In Jan 23, I finally got a SS Daytona at retail after years of waiting and of building my up spend history (a very fun and enjoyable journey). Then in November I added my first AP.

    Both are 100% keepers…

I didn't buy much in 2023 (although that's not great as the idea was to reduce the number and I only sold a couple!)

Favourite would be a toss up between my Sinn 303 RX-8 (traded for a different Sinn)

and my quartz Tissot PRX that cost me just £5 cash (thanks to a surfeit of Tesco Clubcard points)

My favourite watch doe 2023 is the Tudor Black Bay 54.

It is the best proportioned watch I have ever known. Many are put off by its 37mm dimensions but since getting mine all but one of my Rolex have been sold. This does the job of a stainless steel Rolex but better. Tudor certainly hit a home run with this. The vintage aesthetic with modern capabilities and reliability. The rivet bracelet which divides many is a work of are, as is the new clasp.

    Well done Tudor.

Love the 62MAS, congrats on an amazing watch. I am still pondering between SLA037 and 043. The former is simply too beautiful to get to the beach, the former though (yours) is proper toolish and ready to serve years and years in any environments.

I’m in the same boat on both counts but my PRX is a green dial and 40mm bought on SC nearly twelve months ago.

    Favourite Watch Purchase of 2023

Having waited for a long time, the 116500 lived up to my expectations. It wears beautifully on the wrist for a chrono, and perfectly suits my casual/sports/work vibe. But sadly, combined with the remainder of collection, it has narrowed my interest to just 2, maybe 3, other watches to close out the watch collection. The last couple may take a bit longer to land, but maybe that’s part of the fun.

My 2023 favourite watch purchase was my JLC Reverso. This was my exit watch in the expensive watch category and I managed to buy it just before the price increase.

This by an absolute landslide (Seiko SJE093J1). Had to sell it due to other poltergeists, started a new job a couple of weeks ago after redundancy and luckily one AD still had some available for the Jan batch so swiftly ordered another.

I bought just one watch in 2023, but it was my long time grail. Gave a Tudor and a GS in the exchange, so reduced the collection by one.

    Favourite Watch Purchase of 2023

‘74 Seiko KS for me. My favourite because it is perfect and I basically stole it from Yahoo Japan. Came on the original leather strap which was described as ‘damaged and poor condition’ hence the whole watch was sold as a ‘junk product’.
First thing I did was to chuck the old strap in a box for future authenticity and pop it on a nice new green suede. It’s beautiful and even keeps perfect time without being serviced.

I didn't buy that many this year, and a few of those were project watches or for parts. This one was one of the few projects which I got going so, perhaps just for that reason, my favourite is this:

It is a Citizen Multi-alarm from 1979 and is in pretty much mint condition. I had to source and fit a functioning module but it was well worth it.

I'm quite proud to state that for the first time in over 20-years I made no watch purchases in 2023. There will be a purchase in 2024 of a Rolex GMT Master II 16710 to replace one I sold on here some years ago for a fraction of what it will cost me to replace it.

I'm struggling to choose between these two. The 914 probably nudges it as it's a new novelty for me and is my first Panerai.

What is certain is that I now realise I simply have far too many watches and am out of control. I'll be having a fire sale in July when I'm back in the UK. I'll only be there for two weeks so everyting that is for sale will be very keenly priced.

I bought a Garmin Fenix this time last year and the only time it's been off my wrist is to charge it.

It plays perfectly to my new lifestyle https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...y-exit-watches

    No regrets at all.

    Favourite Watch Purchase of 2023

After a “dry” couple of years, I found my love for watches again(I think I bought 7 watches in 2023), my favourite is a toss up between this Cellini

    And this GO Senator

My only watch purchase in 2023, and very pleased I am with it:

IMO, this is the ideal holiday watch. The bracelet has a couple of expanding links either side of the butterfly clasp, which work a treat. No more strangled hands in the heat!

Fancied trying a Hanhart for a while and got hold
Of the ‘1939’ reissue Limited Edition - it’s the 40mm one and it’s had a lot of wrist time. Really impressed
