    Favourite Watch Purchase of 2023

I’ve done this the last few years.

For me this year has been a year or ZERO purchases due to everything going into a career change and setting up my own company.

    So nothing from me.

What’s been your favourite watch purchase this year?

Black dial Explorer2 216570. Was sceptical about 42mm size at first but its great on my 18cm wrist. Love the orange GMT hand and Explorer font.

Without a shadow of a doubt, my Speedmaster 3861 sapphire. I haven't worn anything else since I bought it...

My only purchase has been a Casio Gshock GWM5610. It’s my first Gshock and think it’s a fantastic watch, light, comfortable and accurate.

This one for me. I've been waiting for the right Radiomir to pop up for sale for a few years - there have been a few 'nearly's but when I saw this one I had to have it.

Never really liked two tone watches, until I bought this…. Hasn’t hardly been off my wrist all year.

I only had 2 incomings this year.

A Sinn 104 and the pictured Helm Vanuatu.

I think Helm just nudges it as my favourite but only purely from a VFM perspective.

Out of the 2, if I could only keep one, obviously, I'd keep the Sinn.

So I guess I'm just sitting on the fence, both great watches at massively different price points.

I had 4 incomings this year, but this was the one that made the most impact. First seen and tried on a decade ago during a TZ lunch in Paternoster Square, the longing never really went away thereafter. My watch for "best".

I have had quite a few however my favourite have been my daytona and two Oyster perpetuals. Most worn out of the three so far has been the celebration oyster perpetuals.

The Togenkyo, because it was bought specifically for Tokonatsu, which is such a lovey inclusive celebration of Japanese culture.

Sadly no watches for me this year aside from an Apple one.

No call for the SD from the AD, and no call from them for the OPs for my parents in law retirements; if I cannot get a call on the last 2 I am clearly not important enough.

No chance for the LV even if the lists opens based on this year, may as well give up & spend the extra cash on another holiday instead.

    Merry Christmas all.

I think I’ve had 6 incoming this year. I might still be in the honeymoon period with my IWC BP43 so, discounting that for the moment, I’d say my favourite over the year has probably been my AirKing. I even like that it’s not everyone cup of tea !!

I do think the IWC will become a long term favourite though.

    Favourite Watch Purchase of 2023

I’ve had 3 Panerai this year and one Grand Seiko. I’m committed to a vintage Tudor, but that isn’t here yet so doesn’t count!

Before was a I Panerai custodian, I imagined myself as being all about the Luminor, so it was a great surprise that the last one I would sell is my 210.

I know the topic was favourite, but I love my quartz SBGN003. It’s incredibly wearable and versatile.

    So one of these two.

Difficult choice, but if I had to choose one, it would have to be my 105-012 65.

I think I bought one and sold none, so this is my favourite by default but one of my most worn. A classic I will never sell.

A couple this year, can't choose between them though, they are both very versatile, rare and wearable.

This one for me. My 2023 watch purchases have lent more into whimsy and fun. This one ticks the boxes

I already loved my old aerospace and wore it often, so this was a low risk option.

Nothing really stuck for me in 2023, despite a fair few purchases. The only 2023 arrival that hasn't already gone is a SNE569P1. I do really like it as it's a very comfortable one to wear (I have it on a Nick Mankey strap), but nevertheless I suspect it'll go in the new year. I don't have a picture of my one but here's a shot off the internet.

Seen at a G2G getting on for a decade ago, and never forgotten....

A year or two ago I decided that the next time I saw 1st Gen I would just get on with it and buy it. As happens if you leave something a decade, prices go up and condition goes down, but I don't mind, I just so glad to finally have one of these in my life. Its my going-down-the-pub watch.

Three in and two out this year.
I can’t split these two as my favourites and both will be keepers.

I think it's going to be this one.

Quartz Tissot PRX has been my only purchase this year. Blue dial and 35mm, I really like it.

I have tried to modernise with an Apple Watch but prefer my more conventional watches. I cannot get over having to charge it on a daily basis.

My only one this year. Was asking for something green and the AD came through with this. Really loving the lacquered dial.

A swap rather than a purchase, but whatevs - my Sinn 756 Diapal is far and away the best thing to arrive this year:
