    Nacreous clouds, anyone?

Apparantly they've been in British skies since Tuesday. First I knew was when we were driving home this evening and caught a glimpse. 53 years of looking at the sky, and not seen them before.

Of course, by the time I'd parked the car they'd started to diminish.

Anyone else been treated to a view of them this week?

Much more impressive with the naked eye, the camera on the phone never really captures the depth of colour.

You can definitely see why they are called "Mother of Pearl" clouds. Cracking image.

Wonderful stuff. Cloud appreciators should pay this place a visit: https://cloudappreciationsociety.org/gallery/

The accompanying book is also excellent.

There was quite a few of us outside work looking at these for while on Thursday evening. The photo doesn’t do it any justice.
