Thread: Should I be concerned with this Everest crown?

Should I be concerned with this Everest crown?

I recently picked up a beautiful gilt Everest and noticed the crown (screwed) protrudes somewhat, leaving a small gap. Should I be concerned or should I disregard?

For some context, my black dial Everest and Commander don't do this.

    Try rescrewing?
My silver jubilee everest has a weird crown behavior where half the time it does not sit flat when screwing back. I have to pull, push, and screw again.

Edit: it has been like that since new. I never bothered to have it fixed with how cheap these go for

I think the crown just naturally protrudes more. Hopefully, it's just a cosmetic issue, not a functional one.

It'll just dig into the back of your hand a little more...

I'm totally for it since it's gorgeous and it wears so nicely. I'm just concerned about any moisture getting through. However, I'm leaning towards it still working as intended.

The crown will seal on the rubber gasket.
If the crown hits the case first, it won't seal properly.

There could be a slight variation in gasket thickness.
The rubber may compress over time.

Random post resurrection, I have noticed something similar to the OP - I think it’s probably just a gasket thickness as suggested. I will pop it in the tank tester some time and check but I am sure it is fine.
