I bet you haven't built one of these today...

I do like to dabble in master craftsmanship, well kind of.

My 7.5 year-old needed to build a gingerbread house for a school project, and then have a photo taken next to it as "proof", and then eat it (after dinner).

Behold, the finest culinary creation this side of a bakery. The icing sugar snowdrift was particular fun. The little characters courtesy of a trip to the garden centre earlier.

Very good. We have had mixed success over the years. Find it difficult to get the ginger bread with straight edges and the same size etc

Great fun when they work. Good effort

    Fair play, that is tidy

    Well done all involved

My attempts always ended looking more a Rubik's snake

    Thanks chaps.

The trick is to make the icing nice and thick, it sticks better.

My little'un was happy with the result anyway!

What a great bit of craftsmanship!! I ‘helped’ my daughter make various things over the years and the results were mixed to say the least!

When my lot were about that age I made the mistake of suggesting that we blew up the gingerbread house with some French bangers that I’d brought back from a holiday in Brittany.

Cue five years of building gingerbread houses with fireworks in-situ ready for demolition the night before school started again.

Yep, well the gingerbread cut outs did. The rest is our combined handiwork.

It might take a fair bit of ginger bread, but how about making a houses of parliament model?

Sounds good indeed. Just need to fill it with thick doughnuts and the model's perfect.
