    Value a Rolex!

Just looking for a little help on a Rolex value. A friend's mum died and he inherited this. A ladies Datejust in gold and Steel circa 1987. He's had suggestions all over the place. I know women's timepieces are worth less than men's as there are very few female WIS and likewise their watches tend to be bought new and for special occasions.

I've had a quick look at the usual places but I'm still at a bit of a loss. For the purpose of value I'd say unserviced to my knowledge.

Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for your time and help.

    Ray

The watch on the valuation cert is a different watch that aside, who knows.
    Cheers,

That's interesting, I never even noticed that. It was just a quick pic. Any questions I should ask?

First thing is to find out exactly how old and model.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

The model and serial number is engraved between the lugs so you need to take the bracelet off, so you should be able to look up the age from that.
Then look on ebay sold items for similar watches to see what they actually sold for.

You should be able to find a similar model on Chrono24. I’d hazard a guess at £1750 ish if selling to the trade. Maybe £2000 for a private sale.

    I think that's a tad low.

Similar models are up for £2500 on C24 so I don’t think it’s far off.

Very different (ish) watch to the valuation, as that describes a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet - so somethings a little off.

I'm not up on ladies watches, but never seen that model with a smooth/domed bezel before.

If it's all legit, as I say maybe something close to 2k loose, and 2.5k serviced.
It's just a matter of time...

Around 2k ish watch only if it doesn't have cert and box

If complete 2.5k I reckon same as what been quoted here

Always a mountain of knowledge here and even I missed the obviously unmatched paperwork. Thanks all for your help.
