Anyone offer some vintage Grand Seiko guidance?

My WTB appears to be drawing only tumbleweed so am hunting about off-forum. Can't find any dealers who seem to specialise, so it looks like the dice-roll that is C24.
Have my eye on this. If any members who know these watches well have any thoughts I'd be grateful for your expertise, and indeed general advice.

Not a expert but looks a good example to me , case back medallion still attached , a few small nicks to lugs so not over polished , clean dial and hand set , just check serial number from listing with the Seiko online date finder . Then see if matches the date in listing
I would want a movement shot make sure there is no rust and a better pic of case back

Ex-owner of a 61GS here. Not a bad example although the medallion looks very over-polished to me. This is what it should look like….

Otherwise, a movement shot or two, as suggested, would be helpful. Be prepared to have the movement serviced too (I think GS do still have a service centre for vintage over here but perhaps worth checking).

This example looks sound, with a decent dial, a case that appears not to have been ruined by polishing and a pretty good medallion. However, there is no mention of its service history and no movement shots and so you should really budget an additional amount for servicing. It is also very expensive and you would be liable for VAT with the watch coming from Belgium. The advert blurb also suggests that the 61GS is amongst the rarest of Grand Seikos. This is simply not true. It is amongst the most common!

If you want to read a bit more about vintage Grand Seiko, then feel free to take a dip into my blog. Tons of examples there.

    Cheers all. Great blog posts.
I got this 6145 from Rome. Runs beautifully, very proper and the nice chap wrote "Old Seiko Watch, value €400" on the customs slip, which saved me a fortune.

What Martin said further up. 6145s are perfectly findable.. a 6155 a bit less so, and VFA even less so..
There’s a school of thought that suggests the slightly lower beat 56gs is the better beater, but they all have their own charm .. my vintages thus -

.. the 56 seems to get a whole lot less enthusiasm/pricing, but it’s superb as a daily wear (ok, so not traditionally GoD styling here, but..)

There do seem to be some spots on the dial here and there, thought it's hard to tell what's on the dial and what's on the crystal. There certainly does seem to be a spot of discolouration between 51 and 52. The medallion also shows some wear. To me it seems a little on the expensive side, but supply outside of Japan is limited. You may consider sourcing one from Japan (there are plenty on Yahoo Japan for example).
I'm currently wearing this, which is the same 6146 with a different dial, and spent about the same on the watch, import taxes etc and a service here in the Netherlands as the watch you linked to costs.
