I'm pretty sure I'm at the lower end of the scale but yes well into 5 figures, but also sold some on due to fickleness/need to finance another watch/just not really liking it after all

I think, around £11,000 in total.....................

    (is it tax-deductable?)

Can I offset with what I’ve sold? Are we looking for a net figure 🤣

There’s an additional perspective which is ‘things that TZ-UK have encouraged you to buy’.
I know I’ve succumbed to that plenty of times over the years.

Edit - a lot. (Too embarrassing.)

Mind you, I’ve not been up to much buying or selling for quite some time.

No but they aren't subject to capital gains tax if you sell them :-)

    Hell no!
The watches are bad enough, but ye God's - the knives, rucksacks, wax jackets, torches, pens, hats.

After reading the title of this thread, I started to worry... But some searching in the books reveals that I've spent a lot and sold a lot - making the balance (slightly) positive for me. 10 yrs ago, I noticed that UK members do not visit German sites and vice versa. And since we're in the middle... We have a few German members here and I think that they can relate to this. Slowly but surely, this difference disappeared.

Brexit threw a spanner in the works. Nowadays, it's absolutely useless to search the SC for an item. Before the package has reached my address, I need to pay shipment, import duty and 21% VAT over everything. In some cases, making SC watches more expensive than the ones I can buy here in the store...

It works the other way around as well. I wanted to sell my 4-liner Rolex 14060. The potential buyer on TZ-UK would have to take the UK's side of customs into account as well. So I didn't even post an FS ad for it. Trying to sell it here would make an expensive watch even more expensive.

In the end I sold it inside the Netherlands.

Rucksack, shoes, coats, jeans, pens, knives, torches, phones, tech stuff etc none of which I knew I needed until visiting TZ 🤔

Aye the place should come with a government wealth warning.

I’m not contemplating doing anything of the sort!

I’m sure I’ve spent more than £20k on non-watch related items over the years - but thankfully that does include a car lol
It's just a matter of time...

I daren't. The last three purchases alone come to just shy of £9k.

    I have a problem.

My bought at vs sold at is the maths I don’t fancy looking at. Either new or from SC.

I haven't, but if I were to tot it up against prices for the same items on Chrono24 I would feel a lot better.

What would make it worse would be to tot up all the stuff I've sold vs the Chrono24 prices!
