Breitling battery change Midland’s nott’s / derby area

The wife’s watch started to long tick so
After a complete sh*t show of sending it off to breitling to get this sorted and them refusing to do it without a service and also supplying a new certificate of authenticity after they polished it that hard last time they can’t read the serial number we finally picked it up from the Breitling boutique at meadow hall last night,
So looking to get the battery done elsewhere any recommendations local to nott’s / derby area ?

I had an Aerospace battery replaced at Johnsons in Nuneaton. Not a million miles away from Derby. No issues with their service.

There's an In-TIme on the first floor in the main shopping mall in the centre, whatever that's called now. The guy who works there on Saturdays removed a second hand from a Bulova for me a few weeks ago. I'm sure they'd do a good job.

In-time are pretty expensive though, or were. They wanted £80 (I think, it might have been more)to change a battery in an old Tag F1.

They used to be quite reasonable.

Christ. You would think they would have some thought process along the lines of "Will this person ever want to buy another watch from us if we treat them this way?". Evidently not.

I mean, can that job really take longer than ten minutes?? Or was the battery included and stupidly expensive?

Their charges were brand specific, clearly as the owner of a 25 year old Tag they could gouge me deeply, had it been a rotary I'd have been charged accordingly.

I said no and bought the battery online and did it myself. Great way to run a business.

I would recommend Watch Lab for battery change,re-seal,pressure test for high end brand quartz watches. I believe there is one in Nottingham ( Victoria Centre?) I have used them for many many years now in Leicester. I always use them. Recently did Omega Seamaster and my wifes Aqua Terra. They do the job within an hour and they a fully accredited for the brands including Breitling and they have the correct dies for opening the case backs. All work is fully guaranteed. Yes it is going to cost between £80 and £100 depending on the brand and model but you have a valuable watch and you want it done correctly. In the case of a Breitling you want the battery change done without all the nonsense the Breitling service centre insists on.

Be useful to know what Breitling model it is.

Anything bar the Emergency range can be done by any competent watch repairer, assuming they can also pressure test.

The Emergency might not be so simple with its two batteries and obvious potential pitfalls of the beacon, although this guy managed it easily enough…

Breitling quoted me £1300 for a new movement, dial, hands & glass for my old B-1 beater.

Apparently, the old (non SQ) movement is no longer supported - even if working fine - as mine was.

When queried, they happily re-quoted for battery, clean & re-seal service (with no warranty).

About £160 - so not much more than others here have suggested.

Breitling battery change Midland’s nott’s / derby area

Copes on Upper Parliament Street used to do changes and pressure tests, and were a Breitling AD.
I think they might not be a Br AD any longer but still do smaller works.

Or call AMJ in Newark. They are the Breitling specialists. Ask them if they can?
