I'm looking forward to the photos. Will you be wearing it outside your home?

Worst case RSJ will have them but I think it’s £240 per side. That’s what I had to pay for being impatient with the YM42.

When I got the RG version in the Netherlands they didn’t charge me for a different strap. I’m going to be miffed if they want £240 for a side.

I didn’t get charged in the store it but I’d warned them months in advance the stock strap won’t fit and to please have the next size up in. They said they would then quoted 6 weeks when they forgot to order it. I didn’t want to wait so went to RSJ and paid. That’s how I still have two straps spare. Very annoying.

    For a rubber strap?

You boys have far more money than sense!.

Congrats Joe - too indulgent for me these days.

Renders can be so misleading sometimes, you then see a real life shot and realise you had quite the wrong idea

The first photo is the generic Rolex photo from their website. The second is my RG version.

The real world photo looks like this :

This is from August when I saw it and ordered one.

I can see why you ordered that one. Big lump of cash, but boy does that look amazing. Congratulations.

My mistake I know realise "got the call today" is code for buying an expensive Rolex.

All other watches are ignored and should be posted/lost in a watch talk thread.

    Really nice real world shot.

Did you notice any size difference between the new and the old when you tried them on? Wondering if the new bezel beefs it out a bit.

Of course, every Rolex needs it’s own thread.

    That’s a beauty!

Remember seeing one in the ADs before the madness started and thinking “One day, …”!

Lovely. One of a small number of Rolex that I look at and actually want.

Well done. Maybe you can do a bit of a write up on the similarities and differences? And sure would like to see some more photos.

For those wondering - they are not rubber straps - they are Oysterflex bracelets: metal blades encased in rubber so far more durable - they cost less than bits of leather charged out at £350 a pop.

Joe - my OCD is in overdrive - the crown is pulled out and maybe the pushers not screwed down. You are killing me.

The entire high end watch industry relies on exactly that sentence.

Congrats! One of the first new daytona models. Haven't seen one in person yet, how does the ring around the bezel feel?

  29. #29
Lovely watch, I just picked up a 36mm explorer from the AD and put my name down for the same watch. The salesperson think I should get it in about 9 months all being well.

The oysterflex and white gold make it quite under the radar in my view - all relative of course!

I promise it was only out whilst I was setting the time.

I will redo the side by side photos.

It could be the contrast but it looks good alongside the white face.

A compare with the white face.

The strap on the RG is longer than the WG version.

It's not a "ring around the bezel". It is the bezel.

Interesting, so I guess a bezel replacement would include the ring?

Are you asking whether a bezel replacement would include the bezel?

Yes but an insert replacement wouldn’t.
