Thread: Oris Pro Diver 4000m

    Oris Pro Diver 4000m

    Oris ProDiver 4000m.
Very well reviewed, excellently made dive watch
Not for the faint hearted at 49.5 mm case diameter and 23.4 mm thickness
    Weight little under 200g
Oris 400 calibre with its 120 hours power reserve
    10 year warrantly
Patented bezel design and rubber strap with micro adjustments
It is beautiful. For me. Am going to enjoy wearing this.

Makes my MM600 look rather dainty!

I've always had a soft spot for Oris (my first 'proper' watch), but always struggled with the non-standard lugs on the diver.

Have to say I greatly prefer that to Omega and Rolex's similarly OTT efforts - great design

23.4mm... that's basically an inch. It's an inch thick. An inch.

I love a big watch and have been having inappropriate dreams about the Omega Ultra deep, but this is another level!!

Not sure how much further you can go in terms of having a watch that will make you musclebound on one arm. Short of making the case out of depleted uranium (...I expect someone is working on it).

Well, they could have made it out of steel rather than titanium for a start, and then added a bracelet. I imagine those would give you some muscles (ready for the uranium version when it comes along).

I had a Deep Sea on when having a look at the Oris. The steel Rolex is obviously smaller with a near identical depth rating as the titanium Oris. Based on the Rolex, it's a pity that Oris couldn't make it smaller than it currently is especially in titanium, but I did like it. It's huge though.

    Enjoy wearing it.

Good for you for getting one Rajen. Incredible feat from Oris. If you have a deep sea challenger that might be a fairer side by side!

If I'd taken that diving instructers job in France 20 years ago, I'd probably have worn that 24/7, it looks "the mutts knuts" and incredible value.

This is the first new watch that I have been interested in for years. (Prob since the first Pelagos)
I am keen to see one in the metal.

LOve the design and industrial looking appearance, the movement and 10 year warranty are a bonus as well.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!

Totally missed that it was titanium. Does make sense though.

Regardless, such watches were not made for weaklings like me.

I had a first generation Oris Pro Diver which was 51mm diameter and about as deep as a hockey puck.
Remarkably, it wasn't too hefty a watch to wear nor was it too much of a liability when wielding it about town.
Really nicely presented with spare rubber and strap changing tool in a pelican case.
This version looks a little less extreme but the dial is an improvement for sure.

Yeah, have the original Pro Diver but this is miles ahead in every possible way.

Didn't you have the original StuckX diver watch? If so, how doe that compare with this - thickness would be similar IIRC

That StuckX is one of the very few I regret not getting when it came out.

That is an amazing piece. I’m a fan of Oris, I’ve had a TT1 since 2003 and it’s the one I’ll never part with. Wear it in good health.

9mm thick sapphire apparently! Bit too chunky for my liking but an impressive wrist presence.
