    Papyaya for Sri Lanken, I am in there at least once if not twice a month. Handy as it is a short stroll from my local pub.

    We have been to Montys a few times.
    Our favourite used to be Clay Oven, just a few doors away. But they shut a few years ago.
    Another decent one is Laguna - just along the road. Never quite clicked with Montys - but may give it another try soon!

    You've got this all wrong, Kerry - you're supposed to recommend a local curry house (not ask for an opinion on one in another country). (o;

    I don't see a recommendation though, that's half my point.

    This takes me back. I lived on The Common and went to these places regularly a decade ago. The crispy Bindi from Monty's was super.

    When I wanted a great curry, I got the bus to Madhu's. That place was out of this world. Still got a discount card somewhere. I've just seen they've opened a place in Mayfair which I going to book right now.

    Went to Madhu's at the Grove last sunday. Besides the starters being too small, the food was great.

    Last time I was in London I went to Masala zone in Earls Court, and it was very good. They recommended I had a Thalis and whilst being a little small for my normal meal size it was outstanding.

    Locally we have no great options, a few decent ones, Akbars use to very good in York but not have been there in years.

    Bombay cottage in Hamilton, just down from the race course. South Indian chilli chicken is my go to. Nan breads are massive and would feed 4.

    Bit far away, but the menu looks good. Interesting use of Goanese vs the more usual Goan. Love to see a photo of the naan next time you visit!

    The Clay Oven, that takes me back. I used to go there when I lived in Northfields for a bit years ago.

    Vadah in Stockton is excellent and has just been recognised in the national curry awards.

    Aagrah in Shipley if I'm visiting the in-laws.

    I saw someone mention Akbars in Middlesbrough, excellent when it first opened but it's just reheated food sent up from Bradford now and certainly not as good as it was.

    Not local but if you like curry then Aktar at Home is well worth it, better than any takeaway I've had...
