    Ryder Cup 2023

Well, here we go again it’s RC time! My prediction is a close fought competition but the USA team to just shave it, maybe 15-13.

Fantastic day's play, though remember Europe won 4-0 on the first morning of last week's Solheim Cup and lost the event, so mustn't get carried away.
    Yet.

Edit: appreciate Europe didn't lose as such, but USA retained the trophy

Fortunately, this doesn't look like it's aging well (not that anyone expected this kind of dominance, of course)!

Well, that was all a bit chaotic yesterday. Let’s hope that Europe’s golf does the talking today… great start from Rahm

Quite appropriate to see several US fanatics in dinosaur costumes.

Lovely piece of commentary earlier: "Rahmbo gets first blood"

Does anyone here think that Europe may not get the half point needed?

It’s looking touch and go right now.

Yep there was a point where there was a solid block of red - squeaky bum indeed. Fantastic performance though, I thought Rahm’s half on the 18th was excellent

Very surprised this thread didn’t gain more traction. The Ryder Cup is one of the sporting highlights of the year for me.

Have the none contracted players been given the same Rolex DJ?

Congratulations to the European Team. Well deserved result.

Golf but not as I know it!

Absolutely love the atmosphere and attending in 2014 was one of my favourite sporting events ever. Perhaps inappropriate for the purist, but the only golf event where poor shots are cheered.

We went out to Rome for the practice day and the three competition days and I think it's up there with the best sporting occasions I've ever been to... amazing atmosphere throughout. Plenty of banter with the Americans, and there were a lot of them there this time.

It started to get a little nervous on Sunday afternoon but standing on the 17th watching Lowry hole his putt to confirm a half was amazing.

We got quite lucky with our choice of spots... managed to get into the grandstand on the 18th green on Friday afternoon to see Victor, Rahm and Rose all half their matches with phenomenal putts. The 1st grandstand on Saturday morning was incredible and after a bit of a shaky start on Friday the organisers got everything right over the weekend.
Marco Simone is the perfect venue for this sort of golf - loads of banked fairways for some great viewing, pristine greens which were quick but not US quick and some very nasty rough that really punished anyone who left the fairway. Made for a great event!
