I’d want it for used money,it’ll likely need a service,is this model sought after.
What are they going for new ,or it’s equivalent.

Gents
What would be a fair price for a NOS IWC 322701? Watch dates from 2006 but is totally unused and unworn and has a full set. Would £5.5k be a fair price for this? I can see used ones going for £4.5k or so but obviously with signs of wear and sometimes not a full set

Split the difference?
5k- for a minty one would be a good pricing in my opinion.. at 8-9k you may see the 322711 for example, which is quite rare.. alightly more if you are after the newer versions.
I sold this 3227-12 for about £1500 a few years back.
Bracelet, strap, deployant, box (including the book by Ken Noguchi) papers included.

I’d want it for as little money as possible as it will depreciate like an anvil off a cliff.
Lol. The -01 is a very meaty watch - there's a lot of metal there. Mint? NOS? £5k feels strong, but find another, I guess?
Edit - under two years ago, and not mint, but...

iirc there's a lot of movement in there as well - very robust thing

On the tube I was once sat next to one of those — was there a titanium version? — it was battered to Battersby, and it still looked *fantastic*
£5500 seems steep to me. As has been mentioned, if it's been sat for 17 years it will almost certainly want a service when you get it, so £6k+
I was lucky with mine - bought direct from IWC head office (the watch had been worn by one of their senior employees as part of the watch pool). It was a bit battered, so when I bought it I arranged for a full service, valet and new bezel (cost me £460 back in 2009 - no doubt twice that now). Came back looking like new.
Before the service & valet
I lusted after a 3227-01 for years and finally bought one this year after monitoring the market for a very long time.
They're not easy to find now and prices have risen considerably from their low point. I wish I'd bought one sooner but that's life. The prices people were paying five or ten years ago are now irrelevant.
I bought mine from Chrono 24 for a sliver under 5K. It's a full set and in great condition, and having contacted the IWC Concierge I found out it had been recently serviced.
No regrets. I love it.

Meijlinder, not seen around here for a while, reports that in the 6 years since he got his, equivalent ones have gone up about 40%, for private sales. From 3200 to 4500, roughly.
