    New Blancpain ‘Milspec’ tribute

Late last night Blancpain unveiled the act 3 version of the 70th anniversary Fifty Fathoms.

I love that they’ve brought this version back but the choice of case material is quite unexpected.
The price is quite eye watering too.

I hope they make a steel version one day.

A steel version that you could actually buy would be nice.

Very much out of my price range but what a stunning watch.

Love the look, but omega produce a similar case on their seamaster at a third of the price.

This was a fantastic opportunity for Blancpain, stainless steel and a non-limited edition but alas no. 555 pieces in 9 carat gold/bronze at £30K on a Nato with minimal finishing on the 3hz movement........

It looks fantastic, but I always struggle a bit when the homage is more expensive than the original. In this case, there's a lovely commitment to the unfussy utilitarian nature of the original. But I can just imagine Spirotechnique back in the day offering a solid gold model to the French military.

    Don't like that.

Nice if it was Tudor money but I don't see the value in Blancpain.

Well out of my price point but I'm a fan of it. Presumably the gold and bronze alloy prevents the standard patina you get on bronxe watches which always puts me off them.

Looks like a Steeldive idea of a BlancPain tribute. Why have they used orange lume? Horrible.

Not sure the Blancpain is £29,820 better...

Even double-Tudor would be acceptable. Ten-Tudor? Completely ridiculous

It's a nice enough looking watch and I wish they'd used longer lugs on the milspec/bara/no rad but the material and price tag is p*sstake.

I must admit that I was looking for a swatch logo at first.

There needs to be a common man's version of the FF - SS, no date and reasonable size.

I have the Bronze Gold Seamaster 300 and when I saw this new Blancpain it looks very very similar. The Bronze Gold is a 9 carat (375) gold case and is a bronze alloy so it will not develop the same patina as a full bronze case.
