Looks like a Mandarin Duck to me, which probably means it has escaped from captivity.
I nip up our local reservoir a few times a week to feed the duck and give my MR2 a run, yesterday I saw this little guy which I don't recolect ever seeing before, any idea of breed ? TIA.
It reminded me of a kids cartoon many years ago, Captain Pugwash :)

Agree it's a male Mandarin Duck. Growing in numbers https://www.bto.org/understanding-bi.../mandarin-duck
It's now categorizes as naturalised following introduction so may be a "wild" bird

Is it a slow worm?
EDIT: I hope you don't feed the ducks with bread?
brown bread is ok isn't it?
thought it was just nasty white sliced that is bad for them..
It looks like a duck but I can't be certain until I know what it walks like and quacks like.
Don't just do something, sit there. - TNH
“The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) said it was fine to feed small amounts of bread to ducks but people should also feed them sweetcorn, porridge oats, peas and bird seed.
"Just like us, birds need a varied diet to stay healthy," said Tony Whitehead from the charity.
"Although ducks and swans can digest all types of bread, too much can leave them feeling full without giving them all of the important vitamins, minerals and nutrients they need.
"So, although bread isn't harmful, our advice is to only feed small amounts to birds."….”
