The tributes here from those who know Tom and his family on a personal level are truly moving.

His knowledge of vintage Omega was of immense assistance to me and our interactions were always enjoyable and informative. It will be really nice if a few watches with a Dickstar1977 connection make an appearance in the Friday thread this week.

I cannot pretend to have known him well but he was, by all accounts, a great guy and an important contributor to this wonderful community.
My deepest condolences to his family and all who knew him. RIP.

    RIP Tom. What a shock.

Will fondly remember meeting up, doing vintage Speedy deals once or twice. Will wear a Speedmaster in your honour.

    Condolences to friends and family.

Just seen this thread, and though I have not contributed to the site much since my move to Spain, I can honestly say that this has completely shocked me.
I knew Tom from various dealings, all good. Firstly meeting him at his address in Southend and finally in Nottingham. A true gent, full of life and a pleasure to be in his company.
RIP Tom. They say it’s the good ones he takes first.

    Keith.

Friday thread tribute to Tom, good idea. There must be hundreds of his watches floating around the forum.

RIP too young. I feel very bad for his family and friends it's extremely difficult when a young person passes.

Life's too short... and that's such sad news.

A big loss to the TZ community (and condolences to his family).

I met Tom and his wife in 2007 at a garden party being hosted by KeithT and his wife. AgentOrange/Omegary and his wife were in attendance also. What stuck me about Tom was how intelligent, charming and driven he was.

Off the back of Omegamania, I think Tom was instrumental in building up the profile 70’s Omega’s here in the UK, and with his relationship with Tony at STS was in unique position to enable this. Off the back of this resurgence, it was fascinating to see vintage Omega being sold in specialist locations like Burlington Arcade & then with Swatch Group jumping on the bandwagon with all their re-issues since. It remains to this day that late 60,s & 70’s Omega are without rival my favourite brand and period of watchmaking. This in part is down to Tom.

    RIP Tom.

    I just read this.
How awful. I remember reading his many posts about vintage Omega's they were always fascinating & he seemed such a knowledgeable & really nice chap.
Truly terrible to die at such a young age.
    RIP.

I have only just seen this thread, such sad news. Tom was far too young.

    My condolences to his family.

I was lucky enough to buy a Omega Seamaster 300, 14755 from Tom a number of years ago. Through out the process he was generous with his knowlwdge and very patent with a novice completely out of his depth.

    RIP.
