Oh no, that’s terrible news, a real shock.
I can’t see that it has been posted but just sharing the extremely sad news that Tom Dick (Dickstar1977) collapsed and died suddenly while at work on Friday. It was completely out of the blue and a huge shock to everyone.
I know he had many many watch friends here and I considered him a good friend also. We met up and chatted watches and life many times as he lived not far from me.
He was as passionate about watches as anyone I ever met and his Omega knowledge was on another level.
46 is no age and life can be gone in the blink of an eye. Treasure every moment, don’t argue over petty pointless things and spend as much time talking to and seeing your friends, family and loved ones as you can!
RIP Tom![]()

That's terrible news. Had loads of watch talk and banter with Tom. Was a truly nice guy. RIP
That’s very sad news indeed. RIP Tom.
Best Regards - Peter
I hate being bipolar, its brilliant.
Did a few Omega related deals with Tom. Knowledgeable and a real gent. Sad, sad news. RIP and my thoughts are with his family and friends.
I am one of the many who have dealt with Tom over the years and he will be a big loss to the watch community.
That is such sad news.
I learnt quite a lot from numerous posts from Tom.
RIP
Best wishes to family and friends.
It's just a matter of time...
Oh no - that is terrible news. Will always remember looking forward to his posts as he seemed to have a Time Machine and bringing back NOS watches.
RIP Tom - thoughts with his family and friends.
Wow. Jesus that's knocked me for six, it's not long since I last phoned Tom to chat Omega.
Bloody hell. What an absolute gent, and a credit to the various forums he was a member of with simply unsurpassed Omega knowledge. His Omega parts bin was better than the one in Switzerland as well!! Mid 40s, what a cruel, cruel world.
Very sorry to hear this. Condolences to his friends and family.

How sad. I will wear the Speedmaster Mk 2 racing dial that I acquired from him many years ago this week in his memory

Oh no that is very sad news. I didn't know Tom well and if that date in his username is his year of birth that's absolutely no age at all.
RIP Tom and thoughts with his family![]()
I don't know / never dealt with Tom, but I am sorry to hear this sad news, and my condolences to his family. Far too young an age. RIP, Sir.

Rest in peace, that was no age to go.

I just heard the terribly sad news from Tony Coe, the former owner of STS who knew Tom for many years and with whom he became a close family friend.
Condolences to Tom's family and friends.

Awful news, and a stark reminder that life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

Dreadful news. One of the old school, I always enjoyed what he posted, full of knowledge and detail. 46 is too early, my thoughts with his nearest and dearest.
So very sad, so many fond memories of his posts and emails, RIP Tom.

Sad news, I`ve had limited dealings with Tom over the years but I do recall meeting him and a couple of other TZers at a watch auction at Nottingham in 2014, seemed like a good guy.
Tragic and extremely young to pass away. Condolences and thoughts to his family.
God bless. Very sad news
Tom taught me the older guy so much about watch collecting and he was my go to man for watch straps, I pass his house nearly everyday so it was so handy I’d message him “Tom I have a vintage xyz with a lovely patina and I can’t match it up” Tom would say “let me gets the kids to bed and pop round”.
3 hours would often be the time to choose a strap, Tom would bring everything out he had a perfect eye for combinations. I am red green colour blind so he had the edge.
Now Tom never ever charged me for anything he even got a few watches serviced for me el gratis but this came at another cost as he was sunglasses mad he had a big thing for persol and vintage military and that was always my method of payment.
Like myself he also had a thing for fountain pens, vintage BALLY goods, fine fragrances and getting finely drunk on Red wine and his favourite Spiced Rum and ginger beer.
But his greatest passion was his family, his job was so stressful but I never ever saw him bring this home, he always had a smile, witt, and a cheeky twinkle in his eye I feel so honoured to see his children grow up.
Tom was so young to be to be taken away from us at 46 as a community we have lost one of the most knowledgeable members on vintage omega his passion for the Omega F2.4 Mhz watches was incredible he even sold me 2 then brought them back lol.
Tom was never to scared to ask for information about watches he would often ask me about military watches, like myself if he had a military watch it had to have the correct strap his attention to detail was second to none.
The other thing Tom had was his class and strangely amazing perfect wrist would sell me a bloody watch everything looked amazing on Toms wrist!
Tom would casually leave a watch on a shelf and it would look bloody amazing, I’m sure he had watch placement feng shui going on.
My wife and myself where so privileged to be friends with Tom and Esther and as with all sad passings I wish I had made more effort to get together life has just got so in the way this year.
Tom you will always live on in my heart I’m proud to say this older guy looked up to the younger man.
God bless you my friend x
