Here in Beijing I haven't seen any stores with stock for sale of late and I believe it is the same situation in Shanghai and across China. I was in Shanghai last week and I had a look in a couple of Rolex stores but none of the models on display were for sale.
In the watch Wechat groups that I am in there have been a couple of people pick up some precious metal watches recently, so if you are in the market for a full gold Submariner or Skydweller you might have a chance.
Have fun in Shanghai, it is a great city.

I stayed at the Peace Hotel on the Bund a few ago.
This nice man was often outside and offered to sell me a Rolex for 20 yuan.

you can buy any Rolex you want as long as you also buy two three Tudors, or other not so wanted stuff. This is the principle in China to my knowledge so far. No lists there, only money talks.
