Personally I think the rot set in when they twisted the lugs
Omega was already trying (very hard) to replace it with the Mk2 (which was a better watch) but NASA was refusing to go through all the expensive testing when (as far as they were concerned) they already had a watch that was qualified for the job.
The Mk1 was never built for space. The Mk2 was.

I have a very fine MkII and a couple of 125s and am very happy indeed with them. Miss my 321 and Skywalker though.

Some supposedly leaked images being circulated on Reddit and Twitter. No idea if they’re genuine. A price of around £330 being rumoured.
They look pretty horrible honestly.
I'm hoping they're fake and the watch will be more like those featured in the Escapement video posted earlier.

Think the white and blue are decent but other colours are, well, less desirable.
90 hours power reserve and a decent daily wearer depth rating.
£340 maybe considered expensive for a plastic watch but then £13,500 for a stainless BP FF is obscene.

I’m pleased to say that I find these completely unappealing, and won’t be in the market. I’m sure they will sell though!

Must saw as a previous fifty fathoms owner I like these, blue or grey would be a lovely holiday watch.
They should make it in a metal version and remove the swatch branding

Love the look of the light grey, although on the leaked images, they appear to have metal screw lug pins, I'd be very concerned about over tightening and cracking the plastic material.
For a pool and pit swimming watch, if I saw one for sale then I’d consider an Antarctic or a Pacific model. Wouldn’t pay over RRP but that applies to any Watch.
Hard pass for me. Don't care for any of the color combinations plus the quartz Moonswatch meant never having to faff with setting and winding.

The blue looks ok in the Hodinkee footage but judging from the photos, I think the yellow and green versions are pretty hideous.

That's a lot of money for a plastic watch with an unserviceable movement.
The blue and grey versions will be the safe choices, the pinky one is meh, the green is pretty hideous I agree. But I really rate the yellow one, I think if you are going to go plastic, go loud.

The only shame is that you would not be able to open and service the watch, something that a Mechanical movt will need a few years down the line. A pity if you ask me.
Oh the service front, surely a service would cost the same as the actual watch itself? Unless you can service your self!

I'm wondering about the crown. If it's screw down surely there would need to be a female threaded metal insert in the crown itself, and a male threaded metal crown tube in the case. Otherwise, wear would quickly become a problem unless the watch is kept constantly wound.
It’s disposable. The iWatch wearing generation are used to this, but I’m not cool with it.

Don't love them as much as the speedie version but i can still see me getting one, helped by the fact there is a store near me. if it gets more people into buying and collecting watches then i'm all for it. There is a generation of kids growing up who see watches as pointless, anything that chips away at that is good by me.
I agree with that entirely. I just think the way that Swatch handled the sales of the Moonswatch and now these, is idiotic. Honestly. It's just encouraged the scalpers. Why aren't they doing some kind of lottery system.. i.e. register interest and get sent a link with an invite to buy when your name is drawn, or similar.
I'm not sure that would stop scalpers though, would it? it doesn't on gig tickets.
The in store stuff is annoying if you don't live near a store but it's generated way more hype and press than an online system would have - and that's the point.
Problem is there is a large group of young people who have a lot of spare time on their hands and are prepared to join exceeding long queues / camp outside stores. Not ideal but is what it is.
