    Bernie Marsden

I've read that sadly Bernie has passed away.
    https://berniemarsden.com/

Saw the earlier version of Whitesnake a few times with what was for me the best line up with Bernie and Mickey Moody.
A really great player. RIP Bernie.

Was really sad to hear this. I noticed a large quantity of Bermie's guitar collection for sale a few weeks ago and now I suppose I know why.

Very nice man, I exchanged messages with him on Facebook a couple of years ago. He was interested in one of my guitars.

I still have my ticket from the Regal cinema in Ashington around 1978, just before they became Whitesnake.
And yes, Mickey Moody and Bernie Marsden were excellent.
I will try to scan the photos in tomorrow.

Ah blimey, one of the oft underrated greats. Saw him in the early 80's with Whitesnake, a great talent, played to the band and the song rather than grandstanding. RIP Bernie.

The Moody Marsden band came to my home town in the early 90s and it was a great night. It must have been one of my first ever gigs, if not the first.

I saw Bernie at an event at Peach Guitars about a year ago. Then, as always, he was a happy friendly approachable legend.

Wouldn't surprise me if it ended up in Joe's hands as he's played it a few times. I think it was valued at $1m+
Wouldnt be a bad home for it TBF.

So sorry sorry to hear that.

I am on a few guitar forums and noticed that some of his gear was being sold off.

He always came across as a really nice bloke.

    RIP Bernie.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

I genuinely thought: "the bloke who sang Ferry Cross the Mersey - was in Whitesnake???......... Jeez!!"

I hadn't actually heard of Bernie Marsden.

Joe likes a burst. And that seems to be a good example. If Jimmy Page #1 and 2 come to market they would prob go to 2 million each.

I just read it in the paper. Amazing player in the definitive Whitesnake line up. I saw them many times in the late 70’s early 80’s. RIP Bernie

If you want to own a bit of Bernie Marsden history then a lot of his guitars are up for auction in a week or so:

    Bernie Marsden Guitar Auction

I particularly like the look of Lots 81 and 88 but a bit rich for my wallet at the moment.
