I would love a long wheel base version. (FJ43 I think it was called)
Bullet proof and very capable in rough conditions, as much as I love Willys (snigger) and Land Rovers, I much prefer a Land Cruiser when in a rough remote spot and need something dependable. (an Isuzu 4x4 Pick up is almost as good.)

I quite like the look of the new LC which has hints of the FJ, especially the front.

The FJ is super cool though.

Hi, there's a garage in Middlesbrough that imports cars from Japan, he sometimes gets these in.

I know where there is one, along side at least a dozen landrover 110’s 130’s pickups and 90’s. The chap that owns them would rather see them rot into the ground (most are already half way there) than let anyone onto his land to drag them out for restoration.

    Shame!

This thread had me looking at the FJ cruiser
I wonder if they are ULEZ compliant? The Land Rover is being moved on because of the London tax grab (sorry no politics in G&D)

My brother renovated one a few years ago, back to completely standard.

He lives in the sticks in Ireland and uses it daily.

    That’s a beauty.

    What’s the miles/KMs on it?

No more so than any other cars of an equivalent age I’d have thought, bearing in mind the early ones can be +60 years old.

I’ve had late 80’s/early 90’s Land Cruisers that had negligible rust on them and I’ve currently got an ‘03 Toyota Kluger which has no rust on it at all.

Was the FJ 40 ever sold through the Toyota dealer network in the UK?

    I'm not sure it was.

From a contributor to Toyota UK magazine
The FJ45 Landcruiser was imported to the UK by Toyota GB as a medium wheelbase Pickup from 1975 to 1977, but only around 200/250 were sold. The FJ55 Landcruiser 5-door Estate was also imported for the same period in even smaller numbers.

How about a fully frame-off restoration from this company?

My mate has one at his cottage in Lapland, parked usually at the airport, pretty original with added ski box at the back! I've driven it many times when visiting the cottage. It's a bit interesting with those tires and the regular RWD mode in winter.
