Another Seiko refurbishment by Paul (Walkerwek1958)

A few months back I read the thread about Montello having his late Father's watch refurbished by Paul and the excellent result.
A few days after reading the thread we were visiting my late brother's wife for a catch up and update on recent health issues.
As we were about to leave she asked me as the "watch" guy if I knew somebody who could look at a watch that belonged to my
late brother that she planned to give to my nephew as a memento to his dad. My sister in law believed the watch was a 21st
gift but had been in a drawer for years , the bracelet was missing an end link and was also very worn suggesting it had seen
plenty of wear , though I don't actually remember noticing my brother wearing it!
I told my SiL about the thread on here and said I would contact Paul and see if he would be willing to take on the work.
I messaged Paul who agreed to have a look at it and assess what would be required. I took the watch to Paul , who after looking at the watch , agreed to to take on the job and explained what would be done.
    A few before shots.

I sourced a jubilee bracelet to replace the old worn out one.

    After refurbishing

Paul serviced the movement, new barrel & mainspring, new crystal and seals then pressure tested to 3bars. Case polished and sunburst brushed on upper case. Paul also modified an end link and used the one off the old bracelet to give a better fit for the new jubilee bracelet.
Paul has done a fantastic job on the watch and at time of post I’ve not shown it to my SiL , but planning to call over tomorrow to return to her , I’m sure she’ll be as pleased I am with the result.
As an aside my late brother was also called Paul so the whole process has a feeling of kismet.
    Mick

    Lovely job.
Old seiko watches are often just not cost effective to restore so its always a treat to see one that has had proper time spent on it.
Looks incredible. Nice story behind it too.

    Agreed.

Looks excellent, and nice to see a watch with some meaning but not much monetary value brought back

That really looks good. Paul also serviced my 2254 Seamaster & did an amazing job there too.
