    Interesting houses on Rightmove

Found an interesting, unusual property on Rightmove? Post it here. These will obviously be somewhat ephemeral posts, as they'll disappear as the properties sell. Still, might be interesting,

For starters, have a look at this one. The interior decoration was done by someone whose head is wired very differently to mine. I think it looks really good, but not sure what it would be like to live in,

On topic, but not Right Move. This fella had the same idea as you OP but he posts videos of properties for sale in the USA.

This is one of my favourite houses on Rightmove. It sold almost as soon as it was first listed but is back on the market for whatever reason. I'd love it!

    That's quite incredible.

Liked the anecdote about the owner running over his son's motorcycle with his house

Not my style, but they've done a good job internally overall. But why have the left the front of the house as a run down hovel. Neaten up the front and ditch the rotting caravan and might get more interest, kerb appeal adds a huge amount of value.

Probably hoping the caravan and the internal décor distract the potential buyer from the proximity to the A12 and the railway line, and the huge industrial unit on the rear boundary !

A bit of a hotch potch to be honest, but that type of style can look great when executed properly.

To top it off they have a fake Arco lamp, no, no, no!

Always telling when the front of the house is the last photo ...

That isn't actually that near to the A12. On the other hand, this new development is quite close, and has comedy street names as well! https://www.google.com/maps/@51.8890...er=0&entry=ttu

An interesting design and not something I'd usually expect to see up here. So much more appealing than the footballer style chrome and glass or the (imo) hideous middle eastern style marble affairs.

6 bedroom detached house for sale in Moor Lane, Darras Hall, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, NE20 (rightmove.co.uk)

And this one because I just love it!

7 bedroom detached house for sale in Woodside, Sandy Bank, Riding Mill, Northumberland, NE44 (rightmove.co.uk)

Absolutely beautiful front door in pic 2 but the rest would not be for me at all.

Heating bills with that northern weather would soon cost as much as the house. That thing must have 40 radiators.

The taps (where there even are any) scream to me that the whole house was DIYed to a tight budget - that ran out before the en-suite shower could be finished.

The various outhouses and skate ramp in the back garden would make for a great bonfire mind

Given the budget, this one is a bit Marmite

    It’s been reduced though!

Looks like it was on for £40M and with Russian oligarchs the only likely purchaser not surprised it’s dropped in value.

With that kind of kit they must just pick a number based on rarity.

Almost impossible to value apart from by sqft and then a discount for quantum in the quiet times or a massive premium in the good days.

Excellent ! Probably taking their proximity to Colchester Zoo a little too far LOL

Meerkat Mews or Wallaby Way for the win I reckon !

We were considering buying this one as we don’t need anything as big as we’re in any more.

This has been removed from sale, but I always thought that it would suit a horologist:

A good friend of mine lives in Meerkat Mews, the family have season tickets for the zoo as well

That first house isn't for me, the space is great though I'm not keen on the... err... keen DIYer look. It'd be OK as a holiday rental by the coast I'd say though I couldn't live in it.

    This is rather nice -

Scroll through the photos to fully appreciate what's been done to this former church. It still has its bell.

Here's a great way to spend £10m on a house and about £250 furnishing it

Goodness me what a lot of property for that outlay. Incredible. Personally I'm not sure I'd want to live in a church but what they have done with the space is fantastic!

That estate is a nightmare to drive around, it’s like a maze, but it’s only a few miles from Colchester zoo so probably some connection.

assuming it’s the one next to the menswear shop, I’ve stayed there. A few years ago it was an air b&b.
