    Omega Seamaster 300m Paris 2024

I *think* this is hideous, but I’m not 100% sure.

Never seen the point of these unless you were actually a competitor and wanted one as a lasting souvenir. You see old models for sale second hand for games long gone and think who the hell would buy one of those.

    Not for me.

It's not a looker to me either, it looks very dated. But, I was expecting it to be a smaller variant rather than 42mm. Might kind of work at that size, on the right person.

I think it really depends on whether you like the design on these releases. Personally, I absolutely loved the design of the Rio Olympics Seamaster, and once I'd added an adjustable clasp it makes a great alternative watch with a little colour. Some other releases over the years have also looked better than the standard models - but most not so much in my eyes.

As always, I'd rather continue to have more choice rather than less.

I was also wondering at watch stage we would see Omega add some gold to the case back in the same way as it added some silver to the back of the snoopy - and here it is.
It's just a matter of time...

I guess as long as it’s available to those who want one then fine, but the two Omega watches I would buy, the Snoopy and the Cal 321 are definitely not available, just like the Rolex Daytona and GMT.

As usual, we want what we can’t have.

Lots of lovely elements which make a completely awful watch when mixed together.

Love the dial, hate the bezel. Those bead-blasted style gold bezels just constantly look dirty to me.

There is nothing about that watch that I like.

Not sure who buys these Olympic games editions but the quick release bracelet is a nice upgrade for the seamaster.

It looks about 30 years out of date.

Just to confirm the OP's intuition was correct - it is hideous.

Coming to a 40% off Beaverbrooks sale this time next year

It’s rare that two tone is done well. This is not one of those times.

I think my mother would have worn this in the mid 80s, if it was smaller.

I won't be buying one, but I wouldn't call it hideous ... it's just the normal Seamaster with some gold trimmings and a different case back ... ? It's certainly no worse than anything in two tone from Rolex ...

But on a positive note hopefully omega will role out the quick release bracelet on the seamaster soon with a quick release rubber strap as well

"Meh" on yet another special edition - but some suckers will buy it (even with the hideous carbuncle).

As to the Quick Change System (note correct lingo), good luck removing your strap / bracelet when it fails !

If I had the money for it, I'd buy something else.

Not for me.. but, for someone who maybe likes the titanium/sedna gold version… this is probably worth considering at almost £5.5k less.

Am I correct in assuming this is not a limited edition… but rather a special edition?

Apparently an unlimited special edition - initially only available in Paris boutiques. Red, white or blue quick change rubber strap also available to make it look even more Olympicy.

I have the 2020 Tokyo Games Aqua Terra, I’m really pleased with it, but I agreed this Paris Seamaster 300m is spectacularly hideous.

Also think it's hideous! I'd consider an olympic edition if I liked it and also if it had a special memory attached (like going with friends or family etc) or when it was in London.

Hmmm everything I dislike in a watch, white dial, gold, fussy bracelet, illegible hands, limited edition tie in. (I have never minded the He valve, it’s the rest of the modern Seamaster that puts me off)
I am obviously not the target market.

Thanks.. on a white rubber strap.. it may actually be quite a nice summer piece or for the good lady. Still not for me though.

This is what an Olympic watch should look like.

    IMHO.

The Tokyo 2020 Seamaster is superb, this is dire. As Verv says it looks 30 years too late.

Perhaps not quite hideous, but not nice IMHO.

    I don’t think it’s particularly hideous but I wouldn’t want one myself.

I think it’s quite clever of omega to go for the bling-liking market, brings them more market share. Better than cranking out a same old same old yawn.

Big Seamaster fan, but I often wonder why a subtle bezel / dial adjustment and small 'games reference' wouldn't suffice.
