I believe that accountants and others work on the statistical basis that 1 in 12 people, if they have opportunity, will steal.

One then looks at the number of people in a business, divides by 12 . . . . and realises that systems need to be designed to remove that opportunity !

Splendid work by Coot - well done

    Are you keeping it now?
I think not as the reasons for selling haven’t changed and will try Subdial again. If at first you don’t succeed…..

Rescued by the chap who wrote the coding - how cool is that!

Is this a lucky watch or what?!

So glad you got it back. To be totally honest I would have bet big that you'd never see it again.

Particularly if you could arrange for a personalised pick up and delivery by Coot.

Delighted to read the OP has gotten his watch back.
Kudos to the member who helped sort this out too.

Great news. As with seemingly everyone else I was convinced it was gone. Coot, you're a legend. Seemingly like helping to find a needle in a haystack. Super work.

What a fantastic turn to this thread!

Had been following and as someone else noted 'getting anxiety by proxy' - really felt for what had happened, and worse was hard to see a solution other than popping out the other end somehow by luck. Fantastic that someone was able to go out of their way to make the system do what it should, track the parcel down and get it back.

Makes me wonder why that didn't naturally happen - are there just too many such incidents and the staff don't believe it? Not being paid for it, so won't do so?

    Anyway, fantastic news!

Just the best possible outcome. Well done Coot (and, yes Ireland does have some lovely people - we’re not all bad).

As I result of this maybe it would an idea to take a picture of the courier picking up an item from the house and noting date, time and reg number of vehicle, at least with articles of reasonable value?

So every time you give a 9 grand parcel to a courier who is not supposed to be given it, you take a photo of it, and jot down their reg? That's one way of addressing the issue....

Thanks for all the empathy chaps - I was somewhat stressed! As the strap had been adjusted I guess someone had tried it on but coot and co probably saved it from someone’s pocket.
    Happy days…

I was ignoring the ‘wrong courier’ bit and thinking more of the valuable package going missing.
