It was about 87/88 visiting sunny Blackpool for the lights in October/ November with my aunt and pretty certain these were everywhere on the little strips of shops . I desperately wanted one . Obviously they piggy backed of the transformers phenomenon.

Didn’t have one, but certainly coveted it.

Yes I did. Pretty sure it was a red one with blue head and hands. But what I really wanted was a proper transformer. My cousin had an aeroplane (I can't remember which although I think it was purple) which I coveted.

I had a red one - even then I think they were cheap and nasty, the strap was like something out of a Christmas cracker!

I was a spotty teen when these were out. However, I did quite a bit of scuba diving in my early teens. I first bought a Citizen Quartz diver.

Then I put aside a citizen aqualand promaster at the jewellers in Lancaster, Cunningham's, near the bus stop. Saved my paper round money, Saturday job money and paid it off in no time. Had it for years!!

    Still fancy one now.

Never fancied the transformers watch.... Never stacked up against the aqualand

Having spent far too much time online looking for G1 Transformers I think it was actually Blitzwing. A tank that transforms into a plane and then into a robot. So cool. When you are six years old.

    And now.

Growing old is unavoidable. But never growing up is possible.

I had one, and saw one at a vintage toy and collectables shop the other day. They were and still are awesome.

Fair point. However now I wouldn't be so satisfied with a plastic toy, I would want a real tank that transformed into a plane and a robot.

You may not grow up but the toys get bigger the older you get.
