    Classic Cars & Motorcycles Auction

I have posted a few of these sale catalogues before which seem to go down well with those who like to browse during a spare moment or two.

The latest offerings have just dropped in my inbox for your perusal..... 'Including British Icons' for this sale.

    https://www.brightwells.com/timed-sale/5372

    Hope you enjoy.

I know little of classic car prices, but the bikes appear correctly described well presented and sensible estimates. Thanks for posting.

Few nice seemingly cheap tempting cars in there, TVR Chimera, Land Rover Defender, Porsche Boxster and a nice looking TT Quattro...

    Lot of Land Rovers.

Cute little Daihatsu Copen Might be a good city car. Parts could be a problem

The Austin Healey that's had a £100k restoration and expected to fetch £55k - £60k!! That's got to hurt!

Interesting seeing some of the cars up for grabs and the estimates look reasonable..... I wonder how much more than the purchase price you'd need to run some of them every year

This is a rather lovely XJS but I don’t think they’ll get the £32k restoration costs back.

It's like watches, the money you spend sometimes and then lose because your grail, isn't quite what you expected ;-)

I guess, but could be wrong, that if you are spending £100k on a restoration you probably aren't adversely affected by the current cost of living crisis?

Always fancied either a fixed-head Series 2 E Type or an Austin Healey 3000 but not at current prices, I’ll stick with my MGB which is now a very good example that’s properly sorted out and costs v. little to own and run. With an uprated engine and a few tasteful mods the MG drives well by classic standards, swapping it for something more exotic (expensive) would be unwise but I still enjoy browsing through the sales ads.

Classic Cars are a hobby, hobbies cost money. Restoring a car properly is expensive, even doing most of the work yourself, and the end result will always cost more than the market value. Many classics haven’t been restored thoroughly, buying can be a complete minefield especially for the less technically- capable.

Is that a 2007 car? Hardly a classic.
