    Billingham Bag refurbishment experts ?

    Hi All,

First post in yonks ! I was just wondering if there were any Billingham Bags experts on the forum ? I just dug out my old Billingham, which I think may be a 225 or similar and it is somewhat 'worse for wear'. I thought maybe someone on the forum may have experience of giving these a clean up / refurb ?

I reckon it's 20 or 30 years old, and has the velcro strips inside for dividers but I seem to have misplaced the insides, the base is there though which is removable. The big strap splits in to a Y at the ends and it has a ton of pockets.

I don't have it with me at the mo but It is vaguely similar to this one

I realise I should post pics but since the demise of ph*t*bucket I have yet to find a decent free hosting site, any advice would be helpful. Any advice on Beilingham fora will also be put to good use.

Hoping somebody out there in tz-land may be of help !

Cheers and hello again all, Richie !

You may want to edit the title to remove the typo (Billingham, not Bellingham), so that it comes up on searches.

Billingham themselves have a repair service for old bags, I believe, but velcro dividers are common to almost every camera bag out there, and those from another brand would almost certainly fit. Most charity shops tend to have camera bags for sale, and they may be a cheap source of replacements.

Bag exterior will clean up using upholstery cleaner but don't get it too wet. Divider / inserts are available from Billingham but they're expensive https://billingham.co.uk/products/pa...-original-2020.
Other dividers / inserts can be adapted eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasic...438294&sr=8-46
I've bought s/h Billingham bags and repaired them, e.g., new straps and studs
Don't spend too much because it's sometimes cheaper to source a s/h bag ... Ffordes s/h Billinghams are often good value and fresh stock is listed frequently
And if you need a really LARGE Billingham:https://www.lcegroup.co.uk/Used/Bill...2D_376669.html. ... new price is £480 !!
"Well they would say that ... wouldn't they!"

    Ta for the reply,

Blimey, those inserts are well expensive aren't they. I took some snaps the other day and when I can get round to uploading them I may be able to get the type sorted out (It is quite big).

    Cheers Richie.
