Thread: The best Titanium Divers watch out there

The best Titanium Divers watch out there

I realise that - best - is completely subjective, but I have accidentally found myself collecting Ti divers watches, with many flipped in and out over the years - but 2 in the collection now and a 3rd arriving next week.

So, what are your favourite Titanium dive watches.

    Let’s say 2 options:
    1) money no object.
    2) what you would actually buy, or have had.

And feel free to elaborate why it is/they are the best for you :)

I will tick off the obvious one right away, with my Tudor

And raise that with my GS

Both of those are stunners, I'm a sucker for a Ti diver myself but prefer watches under 40mm so my choices are much more limited. Currently wearing a Seiko JDM variant that is 39mm but interested in what gets shown here that might tempt me away from it.

I take your GS, triple the WR and the accuracy with my MM600...

Won't be to everyone's taste but I love it.

Breitling Seawolf would be my other contender.

Deeply unpopular on forums bordering on loathed but the RM028 in the metal is bloody glorious and id have one in a heartbeat.

I love the old sm 300 electric blue in titanium. It is the most comfortable watch ever!

But the new limited is very handsome as well.

Try vintage. Baume and Mercier Capeland S XXL with Cobra yellow dial. Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon "Mad Cow Hemble"limited edition. Omega Seamaster Professional 2231.50 .

  11. #11
ETA Pelagos without the essay on the dial although the left hand version is growing on me rapidly.

I had a Capeland XXL (I love Ti dive watches) - really handsome piece and impressive 1000m WR, but for some unidentified reason one of the most uncomfortable watches I've ever owned.

Well I have a few dive watches but as yet nothing titanium, however if I could find a nice one of these - Citizen Aquamount JP3020 I'd join the club...

An IWC3536 would have to be in the conversation but I think the Pelagos (probably the MN) would win.

Omega 2231.50 gets my vote, but would like to try the Pelagos 39 to see how it shapes up against the Omega.

My first Ti watch was a Citizen Ecodrive chrono, the one with an alarm which I bought in the US early 2000's. I gave it to my lad, which I guess was his gateway watch.
    I have a Steinhart for holidays;

And the ubiquitous Pelagos which has just about become about my daily wearer

As to the original question, I'm pretty satisfied with the Pelagos and don't really know what would be "better". Maybe a blue dialed 40mm Pelagos GMT?
I do like the NTTD, or whatever it's called now and love the chunky-monkey Seiko's but they are just too big for me.
I am looking forward to seeing more Ti watches though.

Bracelet option is a must for any serious best divers watch nominee.

Only one choice for me - the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

My favourite is the Fifty Fathoms, mine being on the sailcloth:

    ...... and then the NTTD

I really like the 90's/2000's Seamasters so the 2231.50 is on the radar, as is a re-purchase of the blue 42mm Pelagos, which I miss. That Scurfa is fantastic value for money IMO.

I'd buy this one in an instant:

But own this one and it's the best one I own, quite like the look of the Pelagos though

The best Titanium Divers watch out there

    What about this bad-boy?
It would be my money-no-object vote - only because I love the look, it is proper horology, but I know I wouldn’t wear it all the time

I very nearly bought one some months ago - but it is just a touch larger than ideal, and the massive odd lug width put me off (23mm), which is why it stays as the money-no-object option.

    Respect!

I've had both the MM600 and Seawolf in the past and I miss the MM600 the most by a long way - I'd love another.

Lots of nice watches, and this ^ is very nearly the correct answer. But I'd go for the slightly later 3536 - perfection.

As much as I love the 3536, I think the integrated bracelet design pretty much kills it in terms of being a practical tool watch. I know the Ocean 2000 is essentially integrated too, but it always had links available from IWC to run it on the velcro straps. Not sure the 3536 had the same (?). Sure you can’t be persuaded to switch allegiances ?

There is indeed a velcro strap option for the 3536, unfortunately I don't have a picture of mine on it...rubber will have to do ;)

My preference would be (order could change daily):
    Omega Seamaster 2231.50;
    IWC Ocean 2000 (all variants);
IWC 3536-01 (on Velcro, rubber or bracelet).

As Stanford says, yes, rubber and velcro options. I've owned both the 3536 (and later 3538) and an Ocean 2000, but it was what? Nearly two decades ago. I'd love to try them again! They probably both seem bargains compared to other brands! You could possibly buy both for the price of a Sub!

No wrong answers here, I don't think!

I haven't checked the details but I've no reason to doubt the accuracy of the strap details in the attached:

Lusted after, found and spent money on.
Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine diver special edition titanium and ceramic.
45.5mm so sounds huge but feels great in the wrist thanks to the rubber and ceramic strap.
Dial is amazing to look at in the sun and the internal cyclops is great for my ailing eyes without being a carbuncle.

And this is my incoming next week… :) :) :)

A little trepidation as the bracelet is not micro-adjustable or do half links - but worth it for that eye-candy.

(Seems now I need to source a Velcro for it too! Bet they are like hen’s teeth!)

Whether they are the 'best' or not is totally subjective, but just the two for me.

    One common as muck -

And one a little less so, and even rarer if you zoom in and see what it's not -

Currently have two ti divers, PAM 614 and Tudor FXD, each of which I love and are amongst my most worn in the collection. MNO would be a blancpain 500 fathoms, unlikely to ever get there.

Had this little fella for years, grab and go.It lives on the window ledge, keeping charge. Wear it as my shooting watch as I cant lift the heavy gun and a watch at the same time .
