The watchbloke on this forum?
Good evening all,
When my grandfather passed away (this was over 25 years ago) , I was given some of his things - have been revisiting these lately and have realised his watch (RECORD de Luxe 501088 is all the info I can see on it) was buried deep under a load of papers.
I would like to get this repaired and working again if I can - the crown is snapped off.
I have heard horror stories of bodged watch repairs so want to ask if anyone can suggest a reputable watch repairer that can help breath life into this watch again.
If it helps, I am based in Essex, but work in the City.
Thanks and appreciate any advice.

As you are in Essex, Simon Freese may be an option. He has quite a long waitlist but worth considering..... he is currently working on a vintage dive watch of mine.
Thanks both.
Not been on here for a while so wasn't aware of the watch bloke.
Simon is just up the road from me so will give him a call as a start.
I`m now back in Blighty after a holiday, just seen the thread. I`m happy to sort this out, I'll discuss with the OP via PM if he's interested.
