Le Coultre was the US import company for JLC as far as I can remember. Same firm just different branding.
It was not my cup of tea but nice to see all the same.
I assume a number of us spotted the Le Coultre watch on AR tonight and I thought it was lovely.
Anyone know more about the watch?
Why wasn't it a JLC? Are they a different company?

Looked a decent size watch for its age although the size was not given. Based on the build up I was expecting a bit more than £1,500. Don’t really know the market for these things, but it looked nice.
LeCoultre are a manufacture that is a century or so older than the partnership with Jaeger. Their various later misadventures in the UK, US and Russia, as they attempted to work around import duties has led to significant confusion over the years, but does mean that, for example, the Chronoflight aircraft clock comes in Swiss, English, Russian and American versions, all based on, or ripped off, the same design.
I don’t think he was too happy with the valuation.
