    Home Insurance Providers

    Evening all,

It's renewal time and my John Lewis policy has gone from £750 to £1,100 on the buildings and contents front.

We moved part way through the year, but still that's a decent hike.

We need cover away from home for some valuables including my wife's Explorer 2 and a couple of rings.

Over the years, and based on advice here, we've oscillated between M&S and John Lewis cover. I seem to recall that NFU used to be well regarded.

I want a decent level of cover and the JL & M&S policies have changed the underwriters over the years, but always offered fairly generous levels of cover.

Has anyone got any recommendations for insurers? I don't mind the Meerkat route for car and bike insurance, but not looking for the cheapest cover for my home.

    Thanks in advance!

NFU, not the cheapest, but the best cover

Happy with Hiscox here. Again, not cheap, but they're good to deal with and they have a convenient non-listing policy.
