    The Bremont Viper

So today the first landed (Ignoring serial number as it was personally requested)

I know the thread will now decend into a 'its great' 'its Shit' 'its Bremont & Ross' etc etc but heres my take on it for what its worth!

I like it, its cool, its light, it wears fantastic, its not boring, its been well tested, its British, and I chose to put my dough into it and Ive had / dealt with a lotta watches I can tell ya. I wont see everyone wearing one but when I do itll be a conversation starter.

Anyway sit back and be delighted or disgusted by my images.

Ladies and Gentlemen The Ltd Edition Bremont Viper.

    Release of 300 Worldwide.

I quite like it. I think a notched strap (ironically like on the B&Rs) would improve it massively as the strap looks a tad thin.

I am uncertain, parts of it I really like and parts not so much. The killer for me is a red second hand, would have looked better if orange (although that's just my opinion & I do have an aversion to anything red, a woeful colour :) ). The case I like, as well as the strap, which I'm glad is not notched. Does this come with a black dial? I have not seen any reference to it.

I like the fact that you like it,in the end thats all that matters (it maybe growing on me).

Perhaps you can find a use for the container as well.

I believe you understand section 69 of the British army?

not for me, the design is all over the place, with colours etc, but if you like it that is all that matters.

I like that (although hands look a little small), great colouring. Bracelet option would be a nice addition.

I like it. It’s orange, it’s square, it’s British and it’s different. Hard to imagine as someone’s only watch but most of us here have more than one watch.

Looks better in your pictures than in Bremonts! Well done for buying what you like. I’m on my third Bremont (all Supermarines) and know that they make a damn fine watch.

I did the same with The P51 Mustang and PAM00127 when they were first released too. Both to a similar response.

But this is a bit of me. Think about how many people you have seen this week wearing glasses! I bet they all spent hours deciding which frames looked the best on their faces but i doubt you could remember one of those frames. But Ill wager if you saw someone in a quirky, colourful and cool pair of frames that also did the job and were bombproof you would remember that!

Ive learned over my years with watches that alot of people buy whats safe, what others have, etc but they all flip and swop about but some of my quirkiest customers with the coolest collections never came back to sell a watch to me. I found that quite interesting as I matured.

We are funny creatures. Thanks for the compliment x

I kind of like it. It's not for me but I do kind of like it.
It's the first Bremont that I've seen that looks like a watch that should cost a decent wedge of cash. Something that I've struggled with on the other Bremont offerings where I've never really seen anything to suggest that they should.

I hope you enjoy it :)

It's one of those "When You Know, You Know" watches. It makes me think of the Omega Alaska Project.

As others have said, it's a good product and it's British.

    Indeed it does:

Well done Kerry for a great pick-up. Dare to be different! I love a bit of orange. I've been looking at Bremont and some their offerings are getting more appealing. Best wishes to you, Martyn.

Just noticed the -4 to +6 indication around 12 o'clock - lovely touch.

Congratulations, a fabulous watch. I really want one of these and if i can shuffle things around i'll have one too. I'd love to see it on the orange strap as i suspect that's how i'd wear it. I like the fact it looks unique and you could recognise that from across a room. Most people wont have a clue what it is and I like that, but its a conversation starter for sure. would sit well amongst my watches and i suspect it'd very quickly become a regular wearer. mmmm, i'm close.

Reminds me of something I was told years ago. Man walks into a bar with his girlfriend, he's not a good looking bloke and he's got an ordinary job yet his girlfriend is stunning, basically a supermodel. Lots of quizzical looks and somebody finally asks the woman what she sees in this man and she says simply, he makes me smile, all of the time. Every stereotype and preconception thrown out of the window and while everyone looking on is scratching their heads with a bemused look, there's no getting around the fact that they're a happy couple.

I don't really like the Viper, I like the orange and black colouring, I like the light weight but I don't like the dial/hands and I don't like the bulk of the watch. Yet undoubtedly, for whatever reason, it's going to make a few hundred people, such as the OP, very happy.

I like it. Thanks for at last taking a wrist shot which Bremont seem incapable of doing for some reason. A picture of it on a foot-long strap wrapped around a flight suit gave no sense of scale. In a larger collection than I now have I could see myself having one.

That looks surprisingly better in your pics than it does in the press release or other shots from it's launch. The side profile makes it look very thin.
    Still not for me.

That summarises my feelings exactly. I kind of like the dial and hands, and I kind of like the case I’m just not sure I like them together?! It also reminds me somehow of those kids flik flak watches with a coloured aluminium case and funny hands? It is at least a nice change from steel cased divers with black dials!

    Love it.
It's not for me, not at all.
But I like the effort that's gone in, and I certainly appreciate that some will and do love it enough to buy one.
069 is my choice of serial number (it's my birth year), both my Siduna and my A-13A (the only watches where I have ever been able to choose) are serial number 069.

Sorry - this things are of course personal, but I really hate that! I hate the shape, I hate the hands, I really really hate the print on the dial! And what's worse is that whilst the invidiual parts are awful, they don't seem in any way to match each other. I don't know how Bremont stylists think, but all their recent products look dreadful to me.

    I love it, but ...
The straps don't do it justice. It needs some sort of bracelet - I'm thinking carbon fibre or pvd to match the case
The second had should match the bezel colour - orange metallic.
Finally, if it had a black face I would absolutely have one
Would really like to try one as it is the most interesting Bremont since the MB/MB2 came out (very original in their time in my view. The interchangeable barrel colours were fabulous)

This is almost entirely my view on the Viper. I know that I just won't wear a white dialled watch. A black dial with a second hand that matched the orange bezel and I'd have bought one. I'm good with the strap and prefer it that way than with a bracelet - not that I've seen one on a suitable bracelet and I freely admit to having the artistic ability of a road traffic accident!

    Hi Kerry,
I watched the launch video a few weeks ago. Its a quirky fun watch. The orange definitely makes it pop and I would say it is an ideal summer watch, lightweight, 100m water resistance and a fabric strap. The world is full of people telling others what watches to wear but at the end of the day its down to what the wearer likes and sod the rest! Enjoy my friend :-)

  49. #49
Looks pretty neat, the orange pops nicely against the black case. It’s British and it’s different, but I don’t understand the soft metal bezel, particularly on a tool watch?
