What are you on about also ?

Klopp classed Salah as a midfielder.

Salah classes himself as a midfielder.

The premier league classes Salah as a midfielder.

Egyptian national team classes Salah as a midfielder.

Jose Mourinho classes Salah as a midfielder.

The fantasy football even classes Salah as a midfielder.

But Nick from 1975 seems to think he’s a forward.

    Baffling stuff.

Salah is de bestest in de weeeeerld la .
His stats eclipse everyone including Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes , Cole , Schmeichel, Messi , Fake Ronaldo and Sachin Tendulkar.
His Covid title of 2019-2020 is testament to this fact.
Any other opinion is worthless .

I’m sure I eulogized over Macallister at the beginning of the season .
Every time I see him , he just looks better . Great signing .

    Fair enough. Doesn't really matter.

You have made this argument a few times before in the past, so it felt like you were just looking for the opportunity to ridicule someone for thinking that Salah is a forward in a front three rather than a midfielder, and to show off your superior football knowledge.

Liverpool should be out of sight here.

Novel tactics from United - playing without a midfield.

OK ... let's have a look how the Liverpool web site classifies him ...

    Oh .. FORWARD ... LOL

That definitive enough for you ?

Arsenal look good and City will win every game, it’s all over for Liverpool, unable to kill a game.

Have Liverpool had a shot in the second half. They will look back at this game as the one that cost them the PL.

Nobody will win all their games. City and Arsenal still have to go to Tottenham.

Big slip for Liverpool that we had 31 shots in the game.

I think that’s us out of it, big momentum killer.

Casemiro provided the single worst performance I've ever seen on a PL pitch. Has he had a stroke?

But one thing nobody seems to be picking up on is that all 3 sides have 7 games left, Arsenal have 4 at home and the other sides 3.

The trickiest game is Spurs away. Arsenal would have put away this United side, and we have United away but that's probably no more difficult than Brighton away.

We play Villa but that's at the Emirates and Villa will be without Douglas Luiz so will likely get taken apart in midfield.

City could win all their games but they look vulnerable and I can see someone like Spurs beating them.

Look at the latest betting odds, barely a sheet of paper between them!

    Interesting.

Tempted to put 10k on City and 10k on Liverpool. Arsenal will bottle it.

TBF. I put a few quid on Liverpool at the start of the season . You could only guess the odds .

Happy to be two goals up, but to my mind it’s been very poor performance today.

Maybe I used the wrong words.

Offering odds of 750/1 for Man U. Free money if anyone takes that bet.

To win £1 you'll need to tie up £750 in the exchange though until mid May.

Sounds like you are underplaying how difficult Arsenals fixtures are and overplaying City's.

Arsenal have to play 4th, 5th and 6th in the league.

Villa maybe without Douglas Luiz but that game is sandwiched between a tricky 2 legs v Bayern.

You can see someone like spurs doing city. City's hardest game is Brighton away (10th) and West Ham at home (7th).

Ok fair enough. That fixture isn't released yet but cancel that and Arsenal both going to Spurs and Arsenal have a far tougher run in.

I would also imagine Spurs going in far harder on Arsenal than City. Specially with top 5 being wrapped up.

Disappointed with Liverpool today but we have been getting away with it a bit for weeks so was bound to catch up, if any of the 3 wins their remaining games they win the league but I think it'll be a bit more eventful than that. Unlikely to be Liverpool but there's always hope!

I was at the game today, great atmosphere and the 3k scousers did make a good noise, TBF, yes United could have easily lost but then again we threw away the lead with a crazy tackle, I really don't know what MU are going to do in a game at the moment, its like their play is bi-polar, one minute we're on a high the next a massive low again.

Some of our passing was shocking, not much running back from the forwards when losing the ball, far too many shots being allowed on goal but then moments of brilliance from the likes of Mainoo, we should be up their challenging but not playing like that, how we have pegged 4 points off the scousers and knocked them out the FA cup I dont know, a small consolation for a club that needs some serious personnel and mental changes.

Prem is still wide open, Citeh didnt seem the force they were but KDB coming back looks to have got them flowing again, I think Europe will have a big impact on who wins the league and MC probably have the best squad to handle it..

If you'd taken your chances you'd have been 4-0 up at half time. 2 worldies from United got them the goals.

yep indeed, but the story of the past few months has been profligacy up front and conceding in most games, its not a great combo. Mo isnt quite on it, maybe post ramadan he will be better, also not sure why konate didnt start yesterday.

Takes us two points above the drop with a game in hand, which unfortunately is the Merseyside Derby, so we can write that one off.

Don’t see the point in appealing a two point penalty and don’t expect them to win it either.

So with 6 games left after that it is one from three (Everton, Forest and Luton) to join Burnley and Sheffield Utd in the drop.

Our final game is away to Arsenal, so no chance of saving ourselves in the last game. Both Forest and Luton are in better form than Everton and Forest may get some points back on appeal, so I really think this could be our year.

I don’t see us doing a Leicester either, more like many of the clubs that stay down there for many years.

Watched a couple of the City documentary episodes - enjoyed it so far.

Really like Grealish and Haaland they seem a good pair of lads.

Think Pep is a bell end and acts like a dramatic teenager. Can’t take to him at all.

Pep has killed football. Tappy bloody tappy football that sends everyone to sleep and now everyone has to copy it. Goalkeeper is now an out field player, inverted defenders (sounds painful), false number 9s, start the game as a number 6, become a number 8 and revert to a number 6. What a complete pile of shite.

These are not talented footballers, they are machines who are trained day in day out to do what they are told. I cannot watch Man City, they bore me to death.

Plus they play every week on snooker table quality pitches. Just watch an old MOTD at the likes of Derby from the mid 70s and it was like the Somme from late Oct onwards.

They are the Harlem Globetrotters of the modern age, but Christ I would slit my wrists if I had to endure a City game.

Give me Bell, Lee and Summerbee any day.

Seems the PL are simply making it up as they go .
Seemingly, it’s A bigger transgression ( with another one on the horizon ) with a smaller penalty . Just enough to not actually relegate the club .
It’s amateurish and shows the calibre of the people in charge .

Scoring 12 pens this season in all competitions isn’t an achievement.

76% of pens are scored in penalty shoot outs which equates to 50% of the outfield players in a highly pressurised knockout situation.

A standard free kick in a league game is virtually a gimme.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
the point I was making is that focussing on his pens dismisses what else he's done for that club; I wish he'd stayed at Citeh as nothing gives me greater pleasure than Chelsea's demise.

however, I'd disagree that scoring 12 penalties isn't an achievement given that a lot of them have been in extremely high pressure situations/matches and they'd actually be a lot lower down the league than 9th without him; for comparison Mo Salah has missed 4 of his last 10 for Liverpool.

right then; I'm back to the Championship thread to moan about my team; too much chat about that lot down the road is bad for my mental health! I've a 380 mile round trip to Plymouth later on to prepare for.

Exactly right Goat. Amateurish is the perfect description.

Have rules by all means, but taking some points off here, adding some back there, have an appeal and a bit of double jeopardy. Just all seems so made up.

I'd not include Gerrard as just an attacking midfielder as he was much more all round than that (brilliant at it too); but did get plenty of goals. More fitting to the group including Roy Keane; the players that picked up teams and carried them over the line when needed.

Gazza, KDB along with those in your list and the shout out for Le Tissier (hampered himself by staying at Soton but equally will always be a club legend) are more the attacking midfielder; Salah is a striker/winger, but not a conventional AM as for this conversation.

right then; I'm back to the Championship thread to moan about my team; too much chat about that lot down the road is bad for my mental health! I've a 380 mile round trip to Plymouth later on to prepare for.
Well we could always dismiss Salah s 40 penalties scored for Liverpool too as Ivan thinks that’s no achievement. That might remove a couple of his golden boots , maybe ?
Penalty taking is difficult and shouldn’t be underestimated.
City haven’t had a decent taker since Yaya Toure .
