TAA is that much of a liability in defence he’s won every cup in domestic football.

Mourinho is my guilty pleasure - he just wins trophies (apart from with Spurs).

Big final, let’s play 90 mins, followed by another 30 mins and then some penalties for the spectacle.

Let’s hope City put 6 past both United and Inter and we don’t have to give up a full night to each final.

I think City will make light work of both of those. I say both will be over in 90 mins.

Europa final turned into a farce. I’d love to put some of these wimps up against the All Blacks.

Refereeing team has lost control of this. Embarrassing. Should have cracked down earlier and sent players off if need be.

He did come close to a bit of racism, people from certain countries.

Although he was speaking the truth, why try and win a match playing football when you can roll around like you have been shot by a sniper in the hope of taking it to penalties.

I would suggest Inter fall into that category, so let’s hope City are 5 or 6 nil up so they have no reason to cheat.

I was worried the ref would end up booking the commentary team. I think everyone else both on the pitch and the bench got booked right?

Sick of saying it, but why not do what they do in other sports, only the captains are allowed to talk to the ref.

This crowding around the officials has to stop and anyone showing an imaginary card should receive a red card on the spot.

And for f**ks sake, put the 4th official on the half way line on the other side of the pitch.

It’s not rocket science in other sports…

Trent is not a strong 1v1 defender, that doesn't make him a bad player. He won all those trophies playing in a system that didn't require him to play to his weaknesses, only his strengths.

Zinchenko had zero criticism of his defending at Arsenal until Saliba was injured. This meant Gabriel was no longer free to cover the huge left side of our defence which Zinchenko absented when moving into midfield and final third. Immediately it becomes more difficult to play to Zinchenko's strengths, whilst also exposing his weaknesses.

Virgil van Dijk often struggling for form and fitness this season and previous, Henderson ageing and losing form, and Fabinho's odd Spacejam-like loss of ability earlier this season - these are all key factors in Trent being exposed. In previous years your most successful opponents prey on this weakness (see Real Madrid) but vast majority of teams were not good enough. With the aforementioned factors all combined this season, lots more teams had the necessary quality to take full advantage.

I think Trent is an absolutely superb player, would love him in my team, and believe he is fabulous as an inverted or attacking RB. Kyle Walker can't do that job (Pep literally said this) but you have horses for courses and I know which I'd prefer to take on Vini Jr!

Is this intentional because there is now only one team in the Premier League that ends with City?

    Premier League 2023-24

All this talk of Chelsea shooting back up into the the top 4 looks a bit far fetched to me, yes they have good players albight too many at the moment to keep them all happy, Poche will be a good manager IF and I mean IF Todd Boley can keep his nose out of footballing matters, if he starts sticking his ore in Poche will be in trouble.

Problem is Boley looks like he needs to be involved and when owners do this it never works, add in the standard of Prem clubs has improved the top 4 is not a given for anyone bar MC.

I think MU done very very well to get third this year without a top striker and some big injuries/bans, they will improve and push hard again as will Newcastle, MC and Arsenal look solid so for anyone to take a top 4 place it will be very hard..

Add in the fact that the current top 4 teams will also have the pick of players during the transfer window, let’s be real most elite players want CL, anyone looking to rebuild below this level will have to pay over the odds for top rate players limiting their budget with FFP..

Chelsea have a good squad but it is huge, so either they give players away or they carry them into the season, they also have players bought by about 4 different managers, which again makes it difficult, just look at the last 10 years at united, I think Chelsea are years off

Is there a list of each club and it's squad size. I thought the league would limit it to some extent?

I think Chelsea's issue is the squad is unbalanced and has a lot of guys expecting to be first choice. Poch is hopefully the guy to deal with some of this and their outlook will improve

There’s a limit of 25 named senior squad members, but an unlimited number of under 21s in addition to that.

  29. #79
Oh right, so they might have a bigger squad then with lots of u21s

Should really be a statue of Sheikh Mansour with the cheque book instead of a football.

Isn’t everyone anti Celtic, they are in the PSG, Bayern Munich category, boring, boring, boring in leagues with no opposition.

I’ve not seen you come across as anti Celtic. I am though. Can’t stand them or Scottish football. They’ve won the league and the cup again. So what? It’s not like it’s hard.

You can correct me if I am wrong and I have no intention of trawling through old posts on football but I have you as a Rangers fan.
Zero problem with that but I don't think your views on Celtic are particularly balanced in much the same way as mine would likely have a bias against Rangers despite thinking I was being balanced.
