Grand Seiko rattling noise ( quartz )

I have a GS with the 9F quartz movement and it runs and works perfectly fine but there is a rattling noise when you move the case.
Especially when you turn it from face up to face down.

I have taken the strap off and tried to look if the crystal, hands of dial are moving at all but I cant see anything.

My best guess is the calendar or movement is loose and knocking about.

Can anyone with a quartz GS confirm that there is no rattle or noises.

If it is normal or quite common then i wont bother sending it for repair.

Thanks in advance for any help, happy bank holiday.

Surprised by this as the 9F is supposed to be enclosed

It will almost certainly be a loose retaining screw. This is a ridiculously easy fix, but be aware that the coil on a 9f is exposed, if well finished, so that eventually a loose screw will cause damage that will require a new one, as well as scratching the movement. So minimise the amount it’s moved. Seiko are pretty good with their top end stuff so give them a call…

I'm on my fourth GS quartz now and none of them had a rattle when turned over, so I think your one does require some attention..

Perhaps remove your springbars just to check the noise isn’t coming from one of those? I’ve had that happen in the past…

No rattle on mine, my GS is possibly the most “put together” feeling watch of my entire collection.
