So sorry to hear that, some great songs from my clubbing era, oh and the best legs of a woman of age. RIP Tina and thanks for the memories.

One of the last pop/soul legends. So many memorable tracks over 40 years. Private dancer being my favourite.

Another one from my youth left us Nutbush one of the best singles and while I was 14 year old I played river deep over and over much to my grandparent chagrin.

What a voice and a true superstar. Played a cracking Acid Queen in Ken Russell’s film of The Who’s Tommy in 1975.

    Sad news indeed, RIP.

Genuinely iconic, very sad to hear this. I shall remember her best for two tunes - Nutbush City Limits and Private Dancer, the latter written by Mark Knopfler.

I watched this on Christmas Day. Recommended.

It is indeed a sad loss.

Although of course those of us who have been around a bit are experiencing sad losses like this on a worryingly regular basis.

The word "icon" and "iconic" feature a lot in previous posts, and never more truly deserved.

In fact most people always refer to her as Icon Tina Turner.

One of the only acts I saw live, RIP, she really was a star.

I saw her in February ‘84 at Wolves civic hall.
Audience of about 400 on chairs in rows.
It was in between the release of ‘Let’s stay together’ and before her proper comeback.
    It was very intimate.
She and both dancers looked fantastic.

    Rest in Peace.

R.I.P. Tina. You were a rock goddess. Last saw her perform at Wembley in 2000. She was still amazing at 60 !

if she only had Nutbush that would be enough. that riff and the voice but she went on to so much more. genuine rags to riches. Some smart management about 1980 turned her career around. that and the desire to work as hard as necessary propelled her to fame. Saw the tour where Bryan Adams opened for her. he had the Reckless album out and he was up for it. She still eclipsed him. you knew who it was as soon as the song came on. Goldeneye was a perfect song for her

Watching some of her performances last night, you realise what a powerhouse she was - a huge talent that blows the current crop of female singers out of the water! Whilst it’s sad to see a lot of my childhood icons passing, it makes me realise I lived through a great period for gifted musicians. RIP

Yea I feel the same. I never saw her live but loved some of her stuff. Its unlikely that talent like this will ever return, certainly not in my life time. RIP Tina

    RIP: Tina Turner

I was lucky to have seen her live a couple of times. Couldn’t dance but by God what a voice and a true performer.
    RIP Tina.
