    In case anyone cares...

I bought two* San Martin SN004s (each the same model) - I know that's a lot more than the £100 thread title

The first one came with a misaligned bezel, misaligned hands, can't pass a 3 bar pressure test (gasket inside of the crown, not the tube), yet has the sweetest running NH35 it's ever been my pleasure to own (like zero BE, 270+ amp and about +/- 2spd)**

The second one had no alignment or water ingress issues, a decent running NH but not great.

SM are quite the darlings of many online watch chat places at the moment but all is not rosy with all of them..

    *2 different mod projects
**fixed all of that crap myself and got on with my life

Quite like the look of this Apollo dark side of the moon homage. At 40mm is a bit easier to wear than the original and obviously a lot cheaper

That does look rather nice for the price.

As above, not the DD. I have an OP homage with a Seiko movement. Very impressive for the money

Not got a link as such. I used the AliExpress app and searched for Pagani Design Watch Store.

Watch was ball park £65 delivered total cost. No import duty to pay and arrived in about a week.

11.11 sale is almost here. Anyone got their eye on something.
Think I'll try the Pagani I mentioned previously, should come in around £80 delivered.

A bit more expensive but hoping for a good deal on the Lobinni. The micro rotor movement is pretty amazing for around £200

Thats a good price. I paid a bit more than that around £60. I'm sure I always miss some codes

These codes are a bit of a nightmare tbh. I used coins too... I have a 127 day streak of checking in for them in the app. Pretty sure I have a problem

Just arrived. Straps actually quite wearable. Was expecting it to be stiff as old boots!

Love that colour. I had a Pagani Paul Newman and it was very nice and well made.

Bought this one a few months ago. It came on a bracelet with disproportionally large polished centre links, which I didn't like. So I'd been wearing it on a leather strap.

But I acquired a Baltany diver from SC recently, and that came with a much more suitable Pagani bracelet - so I swapped it over last night. The Baltany is now on an original Baltany leather strap; normally I'm not a fan of leather straps on divers but in this case it has a vintage look and pulls it off nicely, I think.

I think I'd really like that if it didn't have the odd cutouts in the dial - It's not like they actually reveal anything of any interest!

Slightly over at £150, San Martin SN007GB. Sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel insert, solid end links, milled clasp, sunburst dial, C3 and running a NH35. Everything lines up and bezel action is great with no backplay.

Do these actually last? Historically cheap from China has been a gamble, so while they do look tempting, if they’re more the disposable type then I’d probably steer clear.

    Owner experiences appreciated.
    Thanks

Depends how lucky you are! Unless the watch has sentimental value they're not worth fixing, cheap Chinese watches vary a lot in quality and standard of assembly. I`ve worked on a couple and they're not nice, parts are poorly made and screws seem to be made out of cheese.

If you're unlucky you've basically thrown your money away and the watch is scrap, if you get a few years out of one I guess it's OK.

    Personally I wouldn't touch them.

I think given the price point there are some firms making decent watches. A lot of seiko movements being used and I'd say quality is above what more recognised firms and charging £300+ for.

Typically the usual homages (Pagani, Baltany, San Martin et al) use Seiko movements.

EDIT: I see someone beat me to that one

Anything with a Seiko, Hittori or Miyota movement should be OK, avoid anything with a cheapo Chinese movement.

Very nice indeed for £52. Just checked, and it contains a Miyota 8215 according to the spec.

How does the green colour compare to the LV?

Might be a cheap way to decide I don’t get on with it.

Anyone come across a Zenith Chronomaster copy with a 38mm case? Wouldn't mind trying one to see how I get on with the case size etc before committing to the real thing.

This wasnt under £100 but I ordered a titanium san martin in blue having been really pleased with a black sub verion i got.
After a 6 week wait, order got cancelled and money refunded. Not had many problems over the years but always dissappointing when that happens.

You need to take mine for a few weeks and get it out of your system. I’ve worn mine 16 days this year so far but might give it a spin tomorrow for the sake of it. Mines the mk1 though so has the exact same bezel as the hulk. I think the newer one looks better.

And the subjectivity continues. Mines also the MK1, or so I’m led to believe.

Delivered to the AD on 11th April. I don’t think the MK2 was released until April, so I’d be very surprised if it were a MK2.

Photos as we know can be very deceiving. Here’s a couple under different lighting.

The age old issue where watches look infinitely better in other peoples pictures than on my wrist. I was positive that was a MK2 but the date makes MK1 more likely.

Thanks again for the offer, but would struggle with anything that expensive on loan should anything happen to it...never damaged a watch at home, but this would no doubt be sod appearing with his law!

Had not realised there was a difference in the bezel colour in the Mk2, trying to not read up on them too much as it builds the frustration of not being even on the list.

I fiind that happens a lot for me too, luckily only so far on Tuna & Monsters, so at the cheaper end of the spectrum.

Sorry - this thread is supposed to be £100 homages and not Rolex chat lol.

These deals aren't exclusive to China. The Watch Shop sells its own dive watch branded Depth Charge which are currently reduced. You get a sapphire crystal, ceramic insert, NH movement, 200m of WR, screw-down crown and gloss dial for £100. Can be delivered next day too. Pretty decent.
