Sad Sunderland fan tonight. What Luton did was effective but horrible to watch.

Still very proud of the lads for what they have achieved this season

As a Newcastle fan I will say Sunderland have had a quite amazing season considering they were promoted via the League One play offs last season! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching them this season. I was surprised tonight as Luton were a different side to Saturday’s game. They were aggressive and horrible to play against (and watch) and they got the job done.

Onwards and upwards for the mackems. A few good signings and players back from injury and they could go straight up next season.

    Congrats to Luton.

See my post above. You should be proud, you've played some excellent stuff, massively over-achieved and had to deal with an unreal injury list.

    Well done.

There will be a lot of relieved people they Sunderland didn’t win, the though was that if Sunderland and Middlesbrough were playing at Wembley the policing of the M1 would be a nightmare and carnage in the services.

Those people work for us, the taxpayer. A busy motorway and service stations, lol.

I can see the Sunderland fans thanking their lucky stars that they didn’t get to the final and caught in a traffic jam or long queue for a Costa.

Don’t forget Newcastle would have been in London playing Chelsea on the Sunday, police very relieved no doubt.

I had to get up at 3am this morning here to watch the game, but I was pleased I did.

It wasn't the prettiest of football but Luton played to their strengths against a Sunderland side struggling with injuries.

It is great to see what the owners have done with the club since taking over and to think that we were still non league back in 2013/2014

Now I just need to try and convince the Mrs that I need to "pop back" to the UK for the weekend of the 27th!!!!

The owls versus Peterborough was an absolute corker last night. Who cares about Citeh.

My youngest is at Sheffield Uni so has adopted Wednesday as his second team and his best mate there is a Peterborough fan!

    Some great playoff games.

It was crazy! I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened before. Amazing game.

I remember FA cup day in '87, I'd never seen the city with so much solidarity. I've not been back to Cov for quite a few years but growing up there it still has a bit of a hold. Come on the Sky Blues.

    Well done Luton Town.

Old enough to remember when both Luton and Coventry were fixtures in the top division.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

    Yeah likewise.
A playoff game which I would like either team to go up.

Nice to have teams that are not heavily moneyed getting a chance in the championship to succeed.

As to the 3rd tier playoff i would like barnsley to go up since they played a tactical masterpeice of a game
    against my team wanderers.

My biggest memory of Luton Town was the Millwall match in 1985. Proper riot that was.

Well done on getting to the EPL.

I was at the Luton vs Man City match when Luton won, stayed up and Man City were relegated to the old div 2!

Always gave them a big home advantage.

I remember QPR having one as well.
    Cheers,

I was at the match my old man picked me up and ran to the Luton family stand , little did we know Millwall and Luton we at each other and the junior hatters stand was in the middle chairs going over my head bottles being thrown but then we did arsenal in the littlewoods cup in 1988 a great day at the twin towers of the old Wembley

Well done The Owls . Definitely need to be back in the big time .

There was more quality in that play off than in the Championship one .

Well done Luton from a gutted Coventry fan. Real achievement getting out of that division with all the parachute money sloshing around other teams.

I also gather Nathan Jones was in charge for enough games to get a promotion medal, so promoted to prem and relegated in the same season!

I have to say Luton and Coventry showed solidarity and respect before the game and after , I had a few beers with a few lads before the game and chatted and the way home , both teams deserved the final as both had really bad times , best off luck for next season Coventry from the hatters

Unusually I was at West Hampstead train station at 7am on Sunday. Saw a few Luton fans trying to find their way back home, some 12 hours after the game had ended! Good work!
