I'm quite interested in picking up a PRS-29A when they become available again this year. It looks like a strap monster. Would love to see your PRS-29As on different straps! (This post is inspired by DVIL's IG post today featuring a PRS-29A on one of its two-piece straps.)

I have 5 Smiths, and the PRS-29A is my favourite. It's perfect. I wish all of the other Smiths watches like the Commander, Everest etc. are based on the PRS-29A, instead of the current Explorer-esque case shape. At least the PRS-29A is based on an actual Smiths watch so one would think it's preferable for all the Smiths heritage watches to share the same design language.
Check out this Everest Expedition:
Notice the flat slab sides of the case, compared with the roundish sides of the current Everest/Commander? Don't make no sense to me.
Here's the Smiths that summited Everest:
.. again: slab sides. Its just better, and more authentic, and more Smiths.
This would be my thought process on design:
1. Everest? PRS-29 with a cream dial and gold hands and markers similar to the original Everest watch above
2. Commander? PRS-29 in 38m with the ceramic bezel and pencil hands (just use the PRS-29A hands)
.. the PRS-29A case is just too perfect to use on one model. And I would go so far as to reuse the handwound movement on the above watches too. The PRS-29A is already 100m and even the Oris Sixty Five 36mm is a "divers watch" with "only" 100m. You only really need 100m - I wear these watches because they're nice, not to dive with.

So glad I found the first edition of the 29A. Really do not like the dial on the newer ones with the 4 and the 6 and 12 lowered.
Ostrich on cream dial works very well IMO
Used to have the Mk1 with plexi and fixed lugs and was delighted.
But the 29A Mk2 from 2019 with it's sapphire glass and spring bars delights me even more.
Eddie did a wonderful job with both and being in possession of the Smiths name makes the whole thing even better.
An added bonus is the accuracy, never more than two or three secs off.
