Yep - their website isn’t really the most user friendly though.

    Would these be any good?

If you search for "single shoulder springbars" you might have more luck!

No problem! If you remember please report back on the quality as I might order some myself.

I’d love to know where Scurfa source their springbars. By some stretch the best shoulderless bars with good long ends I’ve ever used. Don’t have a pic as I don’t own a Scurfa any more!

I might have a spare pair if the OP is interested.

Might be worth a message to them to find out. I’ll give it a go.

They seem pretty good to me the spring inside is reasonably strong and the pins are long which I like (they can be shortened with emery paper if they are to long and stick out the case).

The fat bars I bought where so thick I couldnt get a NATO strap though which perhaps I should have realised.

I am also not sure how fat bars are stronger as the weak point (surely) is the pin into the case.

Thanks for reporting back, much appreciated. They look like they're just the ticket.

I agree on fat spring bars and have wondered the same re, the weak point being the outer pins. Is it easier (and cheaper?) for someone like Seiko who uses the extra fat bars to drill a larger hole through the endlinks? Or does it go back further to when endlinks were hollow and maybe they provided some sort of extra sturdiness?

Reasonable price and quick postage (they arrived last week) I would give them a try if I was you.

Yea, I think I’ll order a couple of sets to pop in the watch box. Funny how I found them really, as I’ve looked before and not found anything appropriate. Then I look for the OP and stumble upon something good!

I watched this video from Seacult straps where the guy is trying to demonstrate the strength of the rubber they use in their strap they made for Squale watches. The springbar fails rather than the rubber strap and if you pay attention to the failed springbar, you can see it bowed in the middle. You can't see the end pin that goes into the case clearly but it looks like the end pin pulled out of the holes in the lug due to it's insertion angle changing with the main springbar bending in it's centre. My reaction when I watched it was that maybe that's what Seiko were on to with their FAT bars - the bigger diameter stiffens the springbar and it would take greater forces for the same level of bending to occur.
