    R.I.P. - Gordon Lightfoot

Singer Gordon Lightfoot passed away at age 84. He had many Top 40 hits, mostly in the 1970s.

This was my favorite, living close to Lake Superior at the time.

My Dad was a big fan, grew up listening to him, some great songs, very emotive.
    Cheers..

Went to Birmingham to see him when he was last in the UK (2016, I think). Sadly he was no longer quite at his best, but he still had an extraordinary repertoire of songs.

    RIP.

It was Dom Joly's Trigger Happy TV that, of all things, introduced me to Gordon Lightfoot.

A great singer songwriter from a great generation of them.

When Bob Dylan covers your song it's got to tell you you have something. Sundown, Edmund Fitzgerald are songs I've heard for ever.
