    CWC NATO straps

I’ve been looking for a light grey NATO for my SBS. I want something much lighter than an Admiralty Grey Phoenix for example.

I went for a vintage grey CWC NATO and can’t say I’m very impressed. Yes, it’s a well made strap but there is a very weird plasticy sheen to the strap that makes it look Silver rather than any sort of vintage grey. It reflects the light something terrible and generally looks rubbish in my opinion.

Does anyone have any recommendations for plain as you like grey NATOs.

    Cheers.

I've found Monkey Swag NATOs to be good quality.

But I think all NATOs are slightly shiny, apart from Phoenix, due to the nylon.

    Cheers, will check them out.

These CWC straps just seem overly shiny. Not a great look for an SBS!

These look pretty good - might try one myself.

    CWC NATO straps

I thought the same when I got one
The vintage was too silver and the grey to blue
However both have toned down with use
The vintage especially. (They remind me of the colour and weave of the original timefactors NATOs in grey.)
I would say the CWC are better quality than the Phoenix.

Good to know. I may have to throw it in with the next clothes wash! See if that helps any.

    Thanks

Agreed - they just need wearing a bit so they don’t feel so new, stiff and shiny.

I think that will definitely help.

I will also say that the grey CWC’s definitely lose their shine with use. They are quite stiff though. I find the Phoenix straps more comfortable but they get tatty quite quickly.
