Mine was polished at the JLC (ie Richemont) facility in London. They do a cracking job:
Jigs, fixtures, inspection, it’s just the same as any production process, someone has written a lot of pretty words for it, but it is marketing

Amazing amount of skill required to do that.
I absolutely need a JLC at some point*.

Yes polishing metal is a very skilled job and they seem not to be around any more.
Polishes the case then puts it back in the box leaving fingerprints on the contact points :(
