    Orfina Porsche Design

Got a lot of love for these old models. When one turned up recently on SC I was lucky enough to snap it up (Surprised it didn't go sooner) - thanks @Crouchy!

This newer model is smaller than my existing one, but works perfectly and in fab New-Old-Stock condition. (Like the other one which I managed to grab last year).

    Some pics...

That military is a stunner Piers, those watches absolutely belong together. So glad the watch has gone to a good home.

Absolutely amazing! I was really tempted with the smaller one but I was not sure of the size!
    Here are my two.

Whenever I see this design, it makes me want one.

They just look so rugged and ready for anything.

    Lovely watches!

The closest I can get is my Sinn 144, although I like to think of the design as a 70s Swiss watch industry parts watch. It’s pretty much my daily wearer.

Is that really a '74, I thought they switched to Lemania movements in '78?
I have had several, including one of the OP's PWI 1873-powered versions.
All epic watches, one of the great designs

The transition started from ‘74 with the 5100 launched at the same time. See https://revolutionwatch.com/overlook...ked-out-watch/
The watch was noted as a 74 when I bought it a long time ago. If there is a way of confirming, that would be good.

Whilst sounding authoratative, that is a misleading article. The Lemania 5100 (as the Omega 1045) was exclusive to Omega for at least the first 3 years of production, its first recorded use outside Omega was in the PD that won the Bund contract, as a new design, in 1978. I am pretty confident on that. If you can tell me your movement serial number, i can give you a better idea on the date.

    Especially this line:

All this means that you could take your Lemania 5100-equipped chronograph and use it to smash open coconuts or clamshells in a desert island scenario, and it wouldn’t lose an iota of accuracy.
Gotta get myself a Lemania 5100-powered watch. I've admired its functionality and toughness since I saw it in a Sinn 503EZM.1
